KEN LAWSON, JONATHAN SATTER AND TERRY RHODES have been appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis to the Florida Blockchain Task Force. Lawson is executive director of the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. Satter is secretary of the Florida Department of Management Services. Rhodes is executive director of the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.

RONALD BRISE AND CHARLES GHINI has been appointed by state Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis to the Florida Blockchain Task Force. Brise is a former member of the Florida House and the Florida Public Service Commission. Ghini is chief information officer for the Florida Department of Financial Services.

CARLOS MARTINEZ, JOHN PATRICK SCHIRARD AND JONATHAN HANCOCK have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis to the Florida Citrus Commission. Martinez, of Orlando, is a procurement manager for The Coca-Cola Company. Schirard, of Vero Beach, is president of GEM Indian River Select. Hancock, of Sebring, is president and owner of Hancock Citrus, Inc.

ROGER GERMANN AND KELLY RICE have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis to the Southwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board. Germann, of Tampa, is president and chief executive officer of The Florida Aquarium. Rice, of Webster, is owner of Prime Property Resources, Inc. and president of Rice Cattle Company.

BOB ROMMEL has been appointed by House Speaker Jose Oliva, R-Miami Lakes, to the Florida Government Efficiency Task Force. Rommel, R-Naples, represents House District 106 in the Florida House.

CAROL WHITMORE has been appointed by Senate President Bill Galvano, R-Bradenton, to the Department of Elder Affairs Advisory Council. Whitmore has served on the Manatee County Commission since 2006.

JOEL SCHLEICHER has been appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis as chairman of the Florida Talent Development Council. Schleicher, of Sarasota, is founder and executive chairman of Focal Point Data Risk.

KAREN GIEVERS has returned to her private legal practice based in Tallahassee. Gievers stepped down this year after more than eight years as a judge in the 2nd Judicial Circuit, which is made up of Leon, Gadsden, Wakulla, Jefferson, Franklin and Liberty counties.

CHLOE CONBOY has been named press secretary in Washington, D.C., for U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Fla. Conboy currently works in Buchanan’s Sarasota congressional office as a field representative.

ALEXANDRIA HILL, JONATHAN VALLENCOURT AND TAMMY STEWART have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis to the Clay County Development Authority. Hill, of Fleming Island, is general counsel for Agincourt Industries. Vallencourt, of Green Cove Springs, is vice president of Vallencourt Construction. Stewart, of Jacksonville, is director of economic and development services for the Clay County Commission.
