MEREDITH BEATRICE has been hired as communications director of the Republican Party of Florida. Beatrice most recently served as communications director for Adam Putnam’s gubernatorial campaign and previously worked as director of external affairs for the Constitution Revision Commission and as communications director at the Florida Department of State. 

BRANDON DAVIS, SCOTT ARCENEAUX, SHARON LETTMAN-HICKS, SEAN PITTMAN, CESAR FERNANDEZ, JOSHUA KARP, ZACH LEARNER, ROXEY NELSON, COURTNEY WHITNEY, CARLIE WAIBEL, JON ADRABI, KAREN ANDRE, JOHN ANZALONE, KEVIN CATE, MATTIS GOLDMAN, JIM KOTTMEYER, DOUG THORNELL, ED PEAVY AND CHRISTIAN ULVERT have been named to leadership and staff positions for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum’s general-election campaign. Davis will serve as campaign manager. Arceneaux, Lettman-Hicks and Pittman will serve as senior strategic advisors. Fernandez, Karp, Learner, Nelson, Whitney and Waibel will serve in senior staff positions. Adrabi, Andre, Anzalone, Cate, Goldman, Kottmeyer, Thornell, Peavy and Ulvert will serve on a consulting team.

HEATHER STEARNS has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission. Stearns, of Tallahassee, is vice president of government affairs at Liberty Dental Plan of Florida. 

TEYE REEVES has joined the governmental-relations firm Smith, Bryan & Myers. Reeves, an attorney, has been involved in state politics for more than a decade and has represented clients at the state Cabinet, the Legislature and state agencies.

ANTHONY WAYLON GRAHAM has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the 14th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission. Graham, of Panama City, is a self-employed. 

AARON A. HAAK AND ANDREA P. SMITH have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the 20th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission. Haak, of Fort Myers, is board-certified in business litigation and construction law and is a shareholder with Knott Ebelini Hart. Smith, of Fort Myers, is a partner with Goldstein, Buckley, Cechman, Rice & Purtz, P.A. 

VIVIAN H. FAZIO, ALICE K. SUM AND WILLIAM G. MCCORMICK have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the 17th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission. Fazio, of Fort Lauderdale, is founder and president of the Law Offices of Vivian H. Fazio, P.A. Sum, of Pembroke Pines, is a shareholder with Fowler White Burnett, PA. McCormick of Parkland, is a shareholder with GrayRobinson.

KELLY SMITH has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Governor's Panel on Excellence in Long-Term Care. Smith, of Odessa, is director of process improvement at Opis Senior Services Group.

SHAUN OXTAL has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Tampa-Hillsborough County Expressway Authority. Oxtal, of Tampa, is managing director of Capright. 

JONATHAN TURTON has been named chief executive officer of Broward Health Medical Center. Turton most recently served as chief executive officer at Baptist Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.

VANILLA ICE has been named by Film Florida as the 2018 Film Florida Legends Tourism Ambassador. Vanilla Ice is a hip- hop artist.
