NICHOLE GEARY will join the government-affairs and law firm Floridian Partners. Geary most recently served as general counsel of the Florida Department of Health.

JUAN KURYLA has been elected chairman of the Florida Ports Council. Kuryla is director and CEO of PortMiami.

JULIE BROWN has been appointed to the Southern States Energy Board Blue Ribbon Task Force. Brown is a member of the Florida Public Service Commission.

AMY MILLER has been elected chair of the Florida Seaport Transportation and Economic Development Council. Miller is director of the Port of Pensacola.

DONALD HADSELL has been named chairman of the Florida Housing Coalition. Hadsell is director of the Office of Housing and Community Development with the city of Sarasota and Sarasota County.

RENE PLASENCIA AND T. PATTERSON MANEY have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Control for Southern Regional Education. Plasencia, of Orlando, is a district relations manager with Florida Virtual School and represents District 50 in the Florida House. Maney, of Shalimar, is a retired Okaloosa County judge.

TINA CALDERONE has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Seminole State College Board of Trustees. Calderone, of Longwood, is a Seminole County School Board member.

GREGORY LITTLETON AND DANIEL DORRELL have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Polk State College Board of Trustees. Littleton, of Winter Haven, is president and chief executive officer of Citizens Bank & Trust. Dorrell, of Lakeland, is a retired certified public accountant. 

LINDSEY LANDER, MIGUEL TEPEDINO AND JAMES SURRENCY have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Gateway College Board of Trustees. Lander, of Trenton, is owner of Lindsey Lander Attorney at Law P.A. Tepedino, of Lake City, is a physician with North Florida Family Medicine and a residency and associate clinical professor at the University of Florida College of Medicine. Surrency, of Trenton, is retired executive director of the North East Florida Educational Consortium. 

TRENIA COX, NANCY ACEVEDO AND CALVIN MARTIN have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Faith-Based and Community-Based Advisory Council. Cox, of St. Petersburg, is a former senior special projects coordinator for the Juvenile Welfare Board. Acevedo, of Winter Springs, is community relations coordinator for the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office. Martin, 49, of Palatka, is state director of program advocacy and inclusion of Florida Guardian ad Litem.
