MIKE CARROLL has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Commission. Carroll is executive vice president of Lutheran Services Florida and previously served as secretary of the state Department of Children and Families.

ALISA LAPOLT is returning to lead the firm Topsail Public Affairs. LaPolt most recently served as executive director of NAMI Florida.

LUIS PEREZ-MEDINA, CHRISTINE BANDIN AND RAUL A. CUERVO have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as Miami-Dade County judges. Perez-Medina is an assistant state attorney in Miami-Dade County. Bandin, of Coral Gables, is a partner at Shutts & Bowen LLP. Cuervo, of Miami, is an attorney and shareholder at Carlton, Fields, Jorden, Burt, P.A. 

DARRELL R. HILL has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a Hendry County judge. Hill, of LaBelle, is an attorney with Darrell R. Hill, P.A. and a magistrate for the 20th Judicial Circuit. 

ED SABIN has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Health Care District of Palm Beach County. Sabin, of Tequesta, is chief operating officer of Southern Implants North America, Inc. 

JENNIFER HOOTEN AND EMILY LEE have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Lake-Sumter State College Board of Trustees. Hooten, of Bushnell, is a teacher. Lee, of Eustis, is a retired integration specialist for Community Coalition Alliance.

STACY ROBELLO has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Department of Elder Affairs Advisory Council. Robello, of Gulf Breeze, is owner of Home Instead Senior Care of Pensacola. 

RONALD LUCCHINO, AILEEN RUESS, ROBERT GLUECKAUF AND MARIA ORDONEZ have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Alzheimer’s Disease Advisory Committee. Lucchino, of Longboat Key, is an adjunct professor at the University of South Florida. Ruess, of Fort Walton Beach, is owner of Ace Senior Care Management. Glueckauf, of Tallahassee, is a professor at the Florida State University College of Medicine. Ordonez, of Boca Raton, is director of the Florida Atlantic University College of Nursing Memory and Wellness Center. 

SUSAN AMAT AND ALLEN GINDER have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Technology Advisory Council. Amat, of Coral Gables, is founder and chief executive officer of Venture Hive. Ginder, of Jacksonville, is Florida public sector director for Avaya. 

CHRISTINE CHAPMAN, RALPH “TERRY” HADLEY III AND CHRISTOPHER WAGNER have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind Board of Trustees. Chapman, of St. Augustine, is a former staffing specialist for the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind. Hadley, of Winter Park, is an attorney and managing partner with Swann, Hadley, Stump, Dietrich & Spears PA. Wagner, of Palm Harbor, is chief operating officer for ZVRS and Purple Communications. 

TANISHA NUNN GARY has been appointed president and CEO of the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida. Gary previously was owner of The Law Office of Tanisha Gary, PLLC.

SUSAN POURCIAU has been named policy director for the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness. Pourciau has served as chief financial officer and director of homelessness training and technical assistance for the Florida Housing Coalition.
