DENNIS ROSS will join the faculty of Southeastern University as a distinguished professor of political science and will help lead the university’s new American Center for Political Leadership. Ross, a Lakeland Republican who represents Florida’s District 15 in the U.S. House, decided against running for re-election this year.

REBECCA RIVERA has been named the Florida Retail Federation Law Enforcement Officer of the Year. Rivera is an eight-year veteran of the Orlando Police Department.

ROBERT KIRILA AND JERRY NEFF have joined the Veterans Florida Board of Directors. Kirila is executive director for the organization Your Grateful Nation. Neff is a retired brigadier general and a retired bank president.

MANNY SARRIA has been appointed to the Florida Housing Coalition Board of Directors. Sarria is assistant executive director with the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust.

MELISSA JOINER RAMBA has joined the government-affairs firm Floridian Partners, LLC. She most recently worked as vice president of the Florida Retail Federation.

STACY ANGIER has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the North Broward Hospital District Board of Commissioners. Angier, of Margate, is principal of Abundant Life Christian Academy.

ROBERT SACKSTEIN has been named dean of the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University. Sackstein most recently worked at Harvard Medical School, where he was a professor in the departments of dermatology and medicine and co-director of the Glycoscience Center.

DANIEL BAYLEY has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Family Care Council in Area 7. Bayley, of Palm Bay, is chairman of the council in Area 7.

CASEY O’HALLORAN, AMY JOHNSON AND PATRICIA OGLESBY have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Family Care Council in Area 8. O’Halloran, of Fort Myers, is an advocate for people with disabilities. Johnson, of Cape Coral, is a former substitute teacher with the Lee County School Board. Oglesby, of Fort Myers, is an advocate for people with disabilities.

ELAINE SCOLA has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Family Care Council in Area 9. Scola, of Lake Worth, is an insurance agent with Equity Financial Services. 

GILDA PACHECO has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Family Care Council in Area 10. Pacheco, of Miramar, is a retired teacher and administrator with the Miami-Dade County public schools.

SUSAN DANGLADE-ALI, WILMA STEINER AND MIREYA CAMINO have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Family Care Council in Area 11. Danglade-Ali, of Doral, is an advocate for people with disabilities. Steiner, of Miami, is former director of health services with the Miami-Dade County public schools. Camino, of Doral, is an advocate for people with disabilities.

ROSEMARY REVOIR AND CHARLENE GREENE have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Family Care Council in Area 12. Revoir, of Palm Coast, is an advocate for people with disabilities. Greene, of Ormond Beach, is a former judicial assistant and advocate for people with disabilities.

PAULA WHETRO has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Family Care Council in Area 13. Whetro, of Mascotte, is executive director of Building Blocks Ministries, Inc.

KRYSTAL SIMS AND MOZELLE GREEN have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Family Care Council in Area 15. Sims, of Port St. Lucie, is an advocate for people with disabilities. Green, of Fort Pierce, is a former teacher’s aide with the Indian River County schools.
