BEN GIBSON has joined Shutts & Bowen LLP as a partner in its Business Litigation Practice Group in the firm’s Tallahassee office. Gibson served as deputy general counsel and assistant general counsel to Governor Rick Scott for nearly five years.
YARISSA REYES, DAVE JOSSERAND AND MICHELLE BRANHAM have been named to positions with the Alzheimer’s Association in Florida. Reyes, who will serve as vice president of communications, most recently worked as director of strategic marketing and development for the Food Bank of South Jersey. Josserand, who will serve as vice president of development overseeing fundraising in North and Central Florida, recently retired as group president and partner of the Dalton Agency. Branham, who will serve as vice president of public policy, worked as the association’s vice president of communications and public policy for the past five years.
PAM OLSEN has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Faith-Based and Community-Based Advisory Council. Olsen, of Tallahassee, is executive director of the Hilltop House of Prayer.
DON LITKE has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Northwest Florida State College Board of Trustees. Litke, of Niceville, is a retired major general in the United States Air Force.
STEVEN JACKSON, AMIR AVIN, LISA FISHMAN, ALI AKIN KURNAZ, SIERRA FAREED, JAMI HUDSON, ADI RAMACHANDRAN AND ELENA MCCULLOUGH have been named to positions at the Florida Democratic Party. Jackson, who will serve as coordinated director, most recently worked as campaign manager for Jose Javier Rodriguez for Congress. Avin, who will serve as field director, most recently worked as campaign manager for a congressional campaign. Fishman, who will serve as finance operations director, most recently managed part of AIPAC's national development program. Kurnaz, who will serve as digital manager, has held positions such as legislative aide to Sen. Linda Stewart, D-Orlando. Fareed, who will serve as finance assistant, worked as a field organizer during the 2016 elections. Hudson will serve as community engagement director in District 8. Ramachandran, who will serve as deputy data director, has held positions such as field organizer for the Virginia Democratic Coordinated Campaign in 2017. McCullough, who will serve as community engagement director in Region 2, served in the United States Coast Guard for 24 years.
KRISTY BRANCH BANKS has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Franklin County School Board. Banks, of Apalachicola, owns a law practice.
CRYSTAL KINZEL has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as Collier County clerk of the circuit court. Kinzel, of Naples, is chief deputy clerk of the Collier County clerk of the circuit court.
DENA PITTMAN has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as Hendry County property appraiser. Pittman, of Clewiston, is chief deputy Hendry County property appraiser
ESTHER “SHELLEY” FANO has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Metropolitan Planning Organization of Miami-Dade County. Fano, of Miami is director of the hospitality management program at Miami Dade College.
JAMES CAMPO AND JOSHUA FERRARO have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Children’s Services Council of Martin County. Campo, of Stuart, is a certified financial planner and former mayor of Sewall’s Point. Ferraro, of Stuart, is an attorney.
