MICHAEL KRAYNICK AND DIEGO MADRIGAL III have been appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis as judges in the 9th Judicial Circuit, which is made up of Orange and Osceola counties. Kraynick, of Winter Park, is a partner at Godbold, Downing, Bill and Rentz, P.A. Madrigal, of Orlando, is an associate attorney at The Pendas Law Firm. 

CHARLIE LYDECKER has been appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis to the Board of Governors of the state university system. Lydecker, of Ormond Beach, is president and CEO of Foundation Risk Partners.

KASEY LEWIS has joined the Tallahassee office of the firm Lewis, Longman & Walker, P.A., as a legislative coordinator. Lewis previously served as a legislative assistant to Sen. Lori Berman, D-Lantana, and Rep. Matt Willhite, D-Wellington.

ASHLEY WALKER has been promoted to national campaigns director for For Our Future and For Our Future Action Fund. Walker has served as state director for For Our Future Florida.

JEANETTE NUNEZ has been named to the Executive Committee of the Republican Lieutenant Governors Association. Nunez is the Florida lieutenant governor.

NICK MADDOX has been installed as president of the Florida Association of Counties. Maddox is a Leon County commissioner.

TIM WEISHEYER has been sworn in as president of the Florida School Boards Association. Weisheyer is a member of the Osceola County School Board.

WILLIAM “BARRY” TIERNEY has been promoted by the Florida Highway Patrol to major of Troop B, Gainesville District. Tierney, who began working for the Highway Patrol in 1987, most recently served as Troop B district commander.

DARRYL TAYLOR has been appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis as superintendent of the Calhoun County school district. Taylor, of Blountstown, has served as principal at Carr Elementary and Middle School in Clarksville and as interim assistant superintendent of schools.

PATRICIA BRIGHAM, CECILE M. SCOON, SHAWN BARTELT, MARK SONGER AND LISA HALL have been elected to leadership positions with the League of Women Voters of Florida. Brigham will continue serving as president. Scoon will serve as first vice president. Bartelt will serve as second vice president. Songer will serve as treasurer. Hall will serve as secretary.

JUDY CLAYTON SANCHEZ has been reappointed by U.S. Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue and U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer to the Agricultural Technical Advisory Committee for Trade in Sweeteners and Sweetener Products. Sanchez is senior director for corporate communications and public affairs at U.S. Sugar.
