JASON HARRELL has been named director of legislative and government affairs for Florida Court Clerks & Comptrollers. Harrell currently serves as budget and communications director for the Florida Clerks of Court Operations Corporation.

MELINDA COONROD AND RICHARD DAVISON have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott and the Florida Cabinet to positions on the Florida Commission on Offender Review. Coonrod was reappointed to a six-year term on the commission and was designated for a second two-year term as chairman. Davison was reappointed for a second two-year term as vice chairman.

JIMMY LONG has been named by Attorney General Pam Bondi as the 2018 School Resource Officer of the Year. Long, a Marion County Sheriff’s Office corporal, was honored for his response to an April 20 school shooting.

MATTHEW CALDWELL has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Broward College Board of Trustees. Caldwell, of Fort Lauderdale, is president and chief executive officer of the Florida Panthers Hockey Club.

ANNE PATTERSON AND GARRY LUBI have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Daytona State College Board of Trustees. Patterson, of DeLand, is a retired math teacher for the Volusia County school system and former chief executive officer of Mainly Math, Inc. Lubi, of Palm Coast, is senior vice president of commercial banking for CenterState Bank.

JAYMIE CARTER AND ROD THOMPSON have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota Board of Trustees. Carter, of Bradenton, is a Realtor with Michael Saunders & Company. Thompson, of Sarasota, is owner of The Thompson Media Group.

GARY COONEY has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as Lake County clerk of the circuit court. Cooney, of Mount Dora, is chief deputy Lake County clerk of court 

JOHN MITTEN has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Hernando County Commission. Mitten, of Brooksville, is a small-business owner

LUZ WEINBERG AND LEONARD BOORD have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Miami-Dade County Expressway Authority. Weinberg, of Miami, is chief executive officer of GlobComm, LLC. Boord, of Miami, is founder of Slon Capital. 

JILL DANIGEL has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Southeast Volusia Hospital District. Danigel, of Edgewater, is a former captain for the Edgewater Fire Department.
