ANA CEBALLOS is joining The News Service of Florida as a staff writer. Ceballos most recently has covered state government and politics for the USA Today Network in Florida.

JENNIFER LOCETTA has been named executive director of the Republican Party of Florida. Locetta most recently served as special assistant to the president and associate director of presidential personnel at the White House and was a senior adviser on Gov. Ron DeSantis’ campaign.

CLAY INGRAM has been appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis as chief executive officer of Volunteer Florida. Ingram, a Pensacola Republican, served in the state House from 2010 to 2018 and has worked as president and CEO of the Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce.

ADAM SMITH is joining the Mercury public-affairs firm as a senior vice president. Smith has been the political editor of the Tampa Bay Times.

JAMIE VAN PELT has been named president of ESPMedia. Van Pelt previously worked as chief of staff and communications director for former Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum.

DANIEL NORDBY has rejoined the law firm Shutts & Bowen as a partner. Nordby had served since 2017 as general counsel for former Gov. Rick Scott.

HEATHER TURNBULL has been named managing partner of The Rubin Group lobbying firm, which has been renamed Rubin, Turnbull & Associates. Turnbull has been a longtime partner at the firm.

RYAN TYSON has been named president of Tel Opinion Research. Tyson has worked for Associated Industries of Florida and will continue as the organization’s chief political strategist.

MARC DUNBAR, CHRISTOPHER MOYA, JENNIFER UNGRU, DANIEL RUSSELL, WILL D. HALL AND ANGELA BONDS are joining the legal and government-relations firm Dean Mead. Dunbar, Moya, Ungru, Russell and Hall have worked for the firm Jones Walker LLP, while Bonds has worked as director of legislative affairs for the Florida Division of Emergency Management.

STEPHANIE MCCLUNG, SHAHRA ANDERSON LAMBERT, RICARDO ALVAREZ, MATTHEW ALFORD AND CARLOS NATHAN have been named to positions in Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried’s administration. McClung, who most recently worked as senior finance adviser for Fried’s election campaign, will serve as external affairs director. Lambert, who worked as a regional director for former U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, will serve as regional director for Fried in Southwest Florida. Alvarez, who most recently worked as a consultant, will serve as a regional director in South Florida. Alford, who most recently worked as a legislative assistant to state Sen. Linda Stewart, D-Orlando, will serve as a deputy legislative affairs director. Nathan, who has worked as a legislative analyst in the Senate Democratic Office and the House Democratic Office, will serve as a deputy legislative affairs director.

THOMAS CORBETT has been named 2019 Corrections Office of the Year by the Florida Sheriffs Association. Corbett is a Walton County detention deputy.
