ALEX GARCIA has been named chief of staff for Lt. Gov.-elect Jeanette Nunez. Garcia most recently worked as political director for House campaigns at the Republican Party of Florida. 

BOB BURLESON has joined the lobbying firm Ballard Partners. Burleson was the longtime president of the Florida Transportation Builders Association.

JEFFREY WOODBURN has joined the government-relations firm The Advocacy Group at Cardenas Partners. Woodburn most recently served as policy director for Gov.-elect Ron DeSantis’ campaign.

MICHAEL GRANT has been named House majority whip. Grant, a Port Charlotte Republican, represents Charlotte County’s House District 75.

ANTHONY CRUZ AND ASHLEY ROSE have been appointed to staff positions with U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Fla. Cruz, who will serve as communications director, is a former deputy press secretary for U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla. Rose, who will serve as senior policy counsel, is a former legislative director and counsel for U.S. Rep. Carlos Curbelo, R-Fla.

ALBERTO MOSCOSO has been named statewide director of communications for the public-affairs and public-relations firm McNicholas & Associates. Moscoso most recently served as communications director for the Florida Division of Emergency Management.

ROBERT SEGAL has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a judge in the 18th Judicial Circuit, which is made up of Brevard and Seminole counties. Segal, of Melbourne, is a general magistrate for Brevard County.

LAWRENCE “LARRY” LEFLER has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a judge in the 13th Judicial Circuit, which is made up of Hillsborough County. Lefler, of Tampa, is a Hillsborough County judge. 

CARY RADA has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a Lake County judge. Rada, of Eustis, is president of Cary Rada P.A.

DAVID E. STAMEY JR. has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a Polk County judge. Stamey, of Winter Haven, is an assistant state attorney in the 10th Judicial Circuit.

ROBERT SPOTTSWOOD AND MICHAEL SOLE have been elected to lead the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Spottswood, who will serve as chairman, is chief executive officer of Spottswood Companies Inc. Sole, who will serve as vice-chairman, is vice president of environmental services at NextEra Energy Inc.

STEPHANIE HARIDOPOLOS has been appointed by state Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis as chair of the Florida Healthy Kids Corp. Board of Directors. Haridopolos is a family medicine physician.

MICHAEL GRIFFIN has been appointed to lead the University of South Florida Consolidation Planning Study and Implementation Task Force. Griffin is senior managing director for Savills Studley Occupier Services.

LESLIE DOUGHER, JAMES REID, BOBBY CRUM AND SAM GARRISON have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the St. Johns River State College Board of Trustees. Dougher, of Green Cove Springs, is a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Vanguard Realty. Reid, of Palatka, is a certified public accountant. Crum, of St. Augustine, is a pastor of Anastasia Baptist Church. Garrison, of Fleming Island, is a partner at Kopelousos, Bradley, Garrison, and Komando P.A. 

JOHN GRIFFIN AND KATIE SPEAR have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Board of Optometry. Griffin, of Tallahassee, is a retired attorney. Spear, of Pensacola, is an optometrist. 

KELLI WALKER, KERRY ANNE SCHULTZ, MEGHAN COLLINS, SABEEN PERWAIZ SYED, CHUCHA BARBER, AUTUMN KARLINSKY, PATRICIA MILLER, JAYNE CERIO, NATALIA MARTINEZ, CHRISTINA BONARRIGO VILLAMIL and CHARLES VICKERS have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Commission on Community Service. Walker, of Tallahassee, is district volunteer coordinator with the Leon County schools. Schultz, of Gulf Breeze, is an attorney with Fountain, Schultz and Associates. Collins, of Tallahassee, is communications director at the Florida Department of Education. Syed, of Jacksonville, is executive director of the Florida Nonprofit Alliance. Barber, of Tallahassee, is president of Chucha Barber Productions. Karlinsky, of Weston, is a volunteer and fundraiser at Imagine Charter School in Weston. Miller, of Ocala, is owner of Miller and Associates. Cerio, of Tallahassee, is a former public-school teacher. Martinez, of Miami, is general manager at Cambridge Innovation Center Miami. Villamil, of Coral Gables, is associate director of external affairs for the University of Florida Coral Gables Office. Vickers, of Tallahassee, is chief pilot and aircraft sales manager for Flightline Group Inc. Aviation. 

RUSSELL JOHNSON has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Nassau County School Board. Johnson, of Hilliard, is a weight inspector with the Florida Department of Transportation.

MICHAEL MILLETT has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Tampa Bay Regional Transit Authority. Millett, of Tampa, is an attorney with Raymond James Financial. 

NATALIE K. CASTELLANOS has been named director of policy and public affairs for the Health Foundation of South Florida. Castellanos previously was with Florida International University’s Green Family Foundation Neighborhood Health Education Learning Program.
