GUY W. NORRIS has been elected chairman of the Florida Commission on Ethics for the 2018-2019 term. Norris, of Lake City, is a partner in Norris & Norris, P.A.

ALICE L. BLACKWELL has been named as the 2018 recipient of the Chief Justice Award for Judicial Excellence by the Florida Supreme Court. Blackwell has been a judge since 1991 in the 9th Judicial Circuit, made up of Orange and Osceola counties.

MICHAEL NUCCIO has been installed as president of the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants. Nuccio practices in the Marianna satellite clinic for Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic. 

WILLIAM “BEAU” WRIGLEY JR. has become chairman of the board of the medical-marijuana company Surterra Wellness. Wrigley is president of Wychwood Asset Management LLC and previously served as chairman, president and CEO of Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company.

JIM O’CONNELL AND RENEE FINLEY have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Commercialization of Florida Technology Board of Directors. O’Connell, of Gainesville, is assistant vice president of technology transfer at the University of Florida. Finley, of Jacksonville, is founder and former president of innovation for GuideWell Mutual Holding Corporation. 

KAREN “KASEY” CUCHENS has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the West Florida Regional Planning Council. Cuchens, is a former member of the Freeport City Council and is vice president of Choctawhatchee Bay Piling and Dock, Inc. 

BILL CONRAD AND BETTY “JEAN” CALDERWOOD have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Gainesville-Alachua County Regional Airport Authority. Conrad is a former mayor of Newberry. Calderwood, is a former mayor of Alachua and is a Realtor with Watson Realty Corp.

JAN MCGEE has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Southeast Volusia Hospital District. McGee, of Oak Hill, is principal of Burns Science & Technology Charter School. 

AREZOU JOLLY has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Jacksonville Transportation Authority. Jolly, of Jacksonville, is assistant general counsel for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida.

LARRY COOK has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Holmes County Hospital Corporation. Cook, of Bonifay, is owner of Son’s Tire, Inc.
