LEO LONGWORTH has been elected president of the Florida League of Cities for 2018-2019. Longworth is the mayor of Bartow and has served on the Bartow City Commission since 1995.

COREY HOWARD has been installed as president of the Florida Medical Association. Howard, who is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, is founder of Howard Health & Wellness in Naples.

AMANDA GORMAN has joined the firm Adams St. Advocates. Gorman most recently worked in the legislative affairs office of the Florida Department of Management Services.

JAMES R. BAXLEY has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a judge in the 5th Judicial Circuit, which is made up of Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion and Sumter counties. Baxley, of Eustis, is a Lake County judge.

NICKOLAS HUNTER DAVIS AND PETER HOLDEN have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as judges in the 17th Judicial Circuit in Broward County. Davis, of Fort Lauderdale, is an assistant statewide prosecutor for the Office of the Attorney General. Holden, of Fort Lauderdale, has served as an assistant state attorney in the 17th Judicial Circuit since 1989.

HOPE PATTEY has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a Polk County judge. Pattey, of Lakeland, is an assistant state attorney in the 10th Judicial Circuit.

DANA MOSS has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a Sarasota County judge. Moss, of Lakewood Ranch, is a felony division chief for the public defender’s office in the 12th Judicial Circuit.

COURTNEY DRUMMOND, STEVE MCCOY, COURTNEY BARKER, AMANDA BOWEN, GREG BLOSE II AND ROBERT “BOB” BURLESON have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the State Emergency Response Commission. Drummond, of Havana, is a chief engineer for the Florida Department of Transportation. McCoy, of Tallahassee, is an emergency medical services administrator for the Department of Health. Barker, of Satellite Beach, is the city manager of Satellite Beach. Bowen, of Tallahassee, is executive director of the Manufacturers Association of Florida. Blose, of Tallahassee, is the Board of Governors program director for the Florida Chamber of Commerce. Burleson, of Tallahassee, is president of the Florida Transportation Builders’ Association.

EUGENE LAMB JR. has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Tallahassee Community College Board of Trustees. Lamb, of Midway, is a retired teacher who served on the Gadsden County Commission for eight years.

LINDA SHAUGHNESSY has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Early Learning Coalition of Orange County. Shaughnessy, of Orlando, is an accountant at St. James Cathedral School.

MEGAN PROULX DEMPSEY AND EDWIN NARAIN have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County. Dempsey, of Tampa, is senior corporate counsel for TECO Services, Inc. Narain, of Tampa, is director of external affairs for AT&T and is a former state House member.
