PATRICIA “PATTI” BRIGHAM has been installed as president of the League of Women Voters of Florida. Brigham joined the organization’s state board in 2015 and moved into the position of first vice president in 2016.
MANNY OROZCO AND ROBERT JULIEN have been named to new positions in Democrat Philip Levine’s gubernatorial campaign. Orozco, who will serve as statewide youth outreach director, most recently worked as Florida campus director for NextGen America. Julien has been promoted to statewide outreach director in the Levine campaign.
LAURA PERRY has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida SouthWestern State College Board of Trustees. Perry, of Moore Haven, is a speech-language pathologist with the Glades County school district.
JAYMIE CARTER has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota Board of Trustees. Carter, of Bradenton, is a Realtor with Michael Saunders & Company.
JAMES SURRENCY has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Gateway College Board of Trustees. Surrency, of Trenton, is retired executive director of the North East Florida Educational Consortium.
JUSTIN SAYFIE has been tapped by President Donald Trump to serve on the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships. Sayfie is a partner with the government-affairs firm Ballard Partners and is publisher of the Sayfie Review.
DAVID OVERSTREET will serve as interim president of the Florida State University Alumni Association. Overstreet is the association’s director of programs and operations.
STEVE SPRADLEY has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Taylor County Commission. Spradley, of Perry, is emergency management director for Taylor County.
BOB CORTES has been appointed South Region chairman of the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators. Cortes, an Altamonte Springs Republican, represents District 30 in the Florida House.
KELLY CULLEN has been named executive vice president and chief operating officer at Tampa General Hospital. Cullen’s previous jobs included serving as director of nursing and director of operations at BayCare Health System.
