Third Democrat seeks to succeed Narain in House

With state Rep. Ed Narain, D-Tampa, running for the Senate this year, a third Democrat has entered the race for his Hillsborough County House seat. Temple Terrace Democrat Walter Lee Smith II opened a campaign account last week to run in House District 61, according to the state Division of Elections website. Smith joined Tampa Democrats Dianne Hart and Sean Shaw, both of whom entered the race last month. Shaw had raised $21,493 as of March 31, while Hart had raised $2,386 and loaned $1,500 to her campaign, according to campaign-finance reports.
