The Week Ahead in Florida Politics – November 14, 2016

THE CAPITAL, TALLAHASSEE, NOVEMBER 11, 2016....... With the election frenzy finished, state government will return to the basics during the coming week. Agencies and boards will hold meetings in Tallahassee and across the state, including a state Board of Education meeting in the Orlando area and a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission meeting in St. Petersburg.

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2016

TAX REVENUES AT ISSUE: The Revenue Estimating Conference will take up a series of issues including revised "outlooks" for general revenue, the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund and the Tobacco Settlement Trust Fund. (Monday, 8:30 a.m., 117 Knott Building, the Capitol.)

SUPREME COURT APPLICANTS EYED: The Florida Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission will hold a conference call to select applicants to be interviewed for a seat on the Supreme Court. BEAN MAKES SERIES OF APPEARANCES: State Sen. PANTHERS, MANATEES DISCUSSED: The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will take up a series of issues, including receiving an update on Florida panther research and management efforts and revising manatee-protection zones in Collier County. BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AT ISSUE: The Agency for Health Care Administration will hold a pair of meetings to discuss issues related to behavioral health care in the Medicaid system. The meetings are expected to include groups such as Medicaid managed-care plans and behavioral health providers.
