REDISTRICTING CASE RESUMES: Leon County Circuit Judge Terry Lewis is expected to begin a second week of hearing testimony in a long-running lawsuit about whether the Legislature complied with constitutional requirements when drawing new congressional districts in 2012. RUTH’S LIST FUNDRAISER SLATED IN ORLANDO: State Sen. Geraldine Thompson, D-Orlando, Rep. Karen Castor Dentel, D-Maitland, and Rep. HURRICANE TAX HOLIDAY STARTS: With hurricane season starting June 1, shoppers will be able to buy a variety of hurricane-preparedness supplies without paying sales taxes. The tax-free shopping period, approved this spring by lawmakers and Gov. Rick Scott, starts May 31 and will continue through June 8.
