Slosberg puts more money into Senate race

BY THE NEWS SERVICE OF FLORIDA

Emily Slosberg, an attorney from West Palm Beach and daughter of Rep. Irv Slosberg, continued to inject her own money into a race for a Palm Beach County Senate seat. Emily Slosberg reported receiving $8,250 in contributions in March, while loaning $13,000 to her campaign, according to a newly filed finance report. She has now loaned $112,000 to her campaign, while drawing $41,162 in contributions. Emily Slosberg faces state Rep. Bobby Powell, D-Riviera Beach, in a Democratic primary battle in Senate District 30. Powell pulled in $6,850 during March and had raised a total of $48,800. Among his contributions were $1,000 each from The Celebration Company, Disney Gift Card Services and Disney Destinations. After being redrawn as part of a redistricting process, the Democratic-leaning north-central Palm Beach County District 27 runs from Jupiter to south of West Palm Beach, and goes west to Loxahatchee Groves. No financial reports were due from two other candidates in the race. Democrat Tony Bennett, an attorney from Jupiter, filed to run April 1. Republican Ronald Berman, a co-founder of the company that became Quicken Loans, opened his campaign account last week.
