Seven Democrats now seeking Campbell seat

BY THE NEWS SERVICE OF FLORIDA

The list of Democrats seeking to replace state Rep. Daphne Campbell, D-Miami, keeps getting longer. Miami Democrat Hemant "Henry" Patel opened a campaign account Friday, becoming the seventh Democrat to take the initial step toward running this year in House District 108, according to the state Division of Elections website. The seat has become open because Campbell is running for the state Senate. The other Democrats who have opened accounts are Taj Collie-Echoles, Fayola Delica, Moise Duge, Roy Hardemon, Francesca Menes and Marie Erlande Steril. No Republicans have opened accounts to run for the seat, according to the Division of Elections.
