Scott to highlight businesspeople in State of the State

BY THE NEWS SERVICE OF FLORIDA

Gov. Rick Scott, seeking $250 million in economic-development incentives and more than $1 billion in tax cuts, will use part of his annual State of the State address Tuesday to highlight businesspeople, a small-business employee and a member of the Florida National Guard, the governor's office said Monday.

The State of the State address, scheduled for 11 a.m., is the traditional kickoff for the 60-day legislative session. Scott will focus heavily during the session on trying to win approval for the economic-development money and tax cuts.

Scott's office said he will highlight five people during Tuesday's speech: Dane Grey, CEO of Elite Parking Services in Jacksonville; Isaac Lidsky, CEO of ODC Construction in Orlando; Rachel Zietz, CEO of Gladiator Lacrosse in Boca Raton; David Tablada, an employee of 1st Choice Aerospace in Miramar; and Capt. Brian McDowell, a National Guard member from Jacksonville.
