Scott taps general counsel, legislative affairs chief

Gov. Rick Scott on Tuesday said William Spicola will serve as his general counsel, while Kevin Reilly will become legislative affairs director. Spicola, general counsel of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation since January 2015, will replace Timothy Cerio, who announced last month that he was stepping down as Scott's general counsel to move to the private sector. Reilly, meanwhile, has served as deputy staff director in the House majority office since November 2014. His previous positions included working as a regional staff director on Scott's 2010 election campaign. The appointments are effective Wednesday.
