Scott seeks applicants to Constitutional Revision Commission

BY THE NEWS SERVICE OF FLORIDA

Gov. Rick Scott on Thursday started seeking applications from people who want to serve on the state Constitution Revision Commission, a panel that meets every 20 years to recommend changes to the Florida Constitution. Scott will appoint 15 of the 37 members of the commission. The Senate president and House speaker will each appoint nine, the Florida Supreme Court chief justice will appoint three, and the attorney general will automatically be appointed. The governor's office said appointments will be made by March 6. The commission likely will spend months considering potential changes to the Constitution, with the ultimate proposals going on the ballot in 2018.
