SCOTT CAMPAIGN HAULS IN $397K

By News Service Florida

Gov. Rick Scott's re-election campaign collected $397,830 in contributions from July 19 to July 25, bringing its overall total to more than $6.2 million, according to a finance report filed Friday. The campaign also spent $83,399 during the week-long period and reported overall spending of $1.1 million. Scott's campaign and a closely aligned committee known as "Let's Get to Work" have now brought in more than $39 million to boost the re-election effort. The committee filed a report Thursday showing that it had topped $33 million. Updated finance information for Democratic candidate Charlie Crist had not been posted on the state Division of Elections website Friday morning. But Crist's opponent in the Aug. 26 Democratic primary, former Senate Minority Leader Nan Rich, continues to raise little money, according to a report filed by her campaign. Rich collected $7,036 from July 19 to July 25, giving her a total of $427,837. A committee backing her candidacy, "Citizens for a Progressive Florida," did not report raising any money during the period and had collected a total of $140,315.
