Revenue chief will step down April 1

BY THE NEWS SERVICE OF FLORIDA

The executive director of the Florida Department of Revenue has given notice to Gov. Rick Scott and the state Cabinet that he will resign effective April 1 to take a job in Washington, according to his resignation letter and an announcement to department employees.

Marshall Stranburg, who became interim executive director of the agency in 2012 and executive director in 2013, said in an announcement to employees Monday that he will become deputy executive director of the Multistate Tax Commission.

He submitted the letter of resignation to Scott and the Cabinet last week, noting that he would remain at the department through the legislative session and during a transition to a new executive director.
