Recount Begins in HD 15 Battle

A recount began Friday morning in a Jacksonville legislative race in which the two Republican candidates have been separated by only three votes, The Florida Times-Union reported on its website. Businessman Jay Fant led attorney Paul Renner after votes were tallied in Tuesday's primary election in House District 15. The winner of the GOP primary is virtually assured of election because the only other candidates are write-ins. The seat became open after Rep. Daniel Davis, R-Jacksonville, announced he would not seek re-election.
