Putnam committee pulls in $144K

BY THE NEWS SERVICE OF FLORIDA

A political committee linked to Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam collected $144,925 in January and has brought in nearly $4.13 million since starting to raise money in March 2015, according to a newly filed finance report. The committee, known as "Florida Grown," had about $3.23 million in available cash as of Jan. 31. Its contributions in January included $25,000 from United States Sugar Corp. and $25,000 from Disney Worldwide Services, the report shows. Putnam cannot run again in 2018 for agriculture commissioner but is widely believed to be preparing to run for governor.

Also in January, a political committee associated with Attorney General Pam Bondi raised $53,000, including $25,000 from Florida Chamber of Commerce PACs. The committee, known as "Justice for All," had about $160,000 in cash on hand.
