Putnam committee nears $4M for year

BY THE NEWS SERVICE OF FLORIDA

With an infusion of cash in December from major businesses, a political committee tied to Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam raised $3.98 million in 2015, according to a report posted online Monday.

The "Florida Grown" committee raked in $765,660 in December, including $150,000 from Florida Power & Light; $150,000 from a PAC linked to the business group Associated Industries of Florida; $100,000 from Duke Energy; and $100,000 from Publix Super Markets.

As of Dec. 31, Florida Grown had about $3.16 million in cash on hand. Putnam is widely expected to run for governor in 2018. The committee started raising money in March and collected more cash in December than in any other month.
