Putnam committee brings in $93K in March

BY THE NEWS SERVICE OF FLORIDA

A political committee tied to state Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam raised at least $93,000 in March as it continued piling up cash, according to a list of contributions on the committee's website. Committees and candidates face a Monday deadline for filing updated finance reports with the state Division of Elections, but Putnam's "Florida Grown" committee also lists contributions and expenditures online. Among the committee's contributions in March were $10,000 from Peace River Citrus Products, Inc., and $5,000 from Florida Power & Light, according to the website. As of Feb. 29, the committee reported to the Division of Elections that it had raised about $4.25 million during the previous year. It had nearly $3.3 million on hand as of the end of February.
