Political committees tied to Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam and Gov. Rick Scott each raised more than $150,000 from June 25 to July 1, according to newly filed finance reports. Putnam's "Florida Grown" committee collected $165,500 during the week-long period and had about $3.75 million on hand as of July 1. The committee, which could play a role in Putnam's expected 2018 run for governor, also spent $98,299 during the period, with $92,000 going to Lakeland-based Silloh Consulting LLC, the reports show. Meanwhile, Scott's "Let's Get to Work" committee raised $156,000 during the period and had about $1.44 million on hand as of July 1. The committee, which also spent $111,855, received $100,000 on July 1 from PACs affiliated with the business group Associated Industries of Florida. Political committees face a Friday night deadline for filing updated finance reports with the state Division of Elections.
