Provost named UWF president

BY THE NEWS SERVICE OF FLORIDA

The University of West Florida Board of Trustees voted 9-4 today to make Martha Saunders the school's next president. Saunders, the university's current provost and vice president, will replace President Judy Bense, who is stepping down from the post. Saunders' appointment is subject to confirmation by the state university system's Board of Governors. Former Florida Senate President Don Gaetz received the other four votes.
