Pilon, Campbell seats continue drawing candidates

BY THE NEWS SERVICE OF FLORIDA

With Rep. Ray Pilon, R-Sarasota, and Rep. Daphne Campbell, D-Miami, running for the state Senate this year, their open House seats continue to attract candidates. Sarasota Republican Sara Blackwell has opened a campaign account to try to succeed Pilon in Sarasota County's House District 72, according to the state Division of Elections website. Blackwell joins fellow Republican Alexandra Miller and Democrat Edward James III in running for the seat. Meanwhile, Miami Democrat Nadia Pierre became the eighth candidate --- all Democrats --- seeking to replace Campbell in Miami-Dade's House District 108. The other Democrats who have opened accounts are Taj Collie-Echoles, Fayola Delica, Moise Duge, Roy Hardemon, Francesca Menes, Hemant "Henry" Patel and Marie Erlande Steril.
