ANNA ALEXOPOULOS FARRAR will join the Department of Financial Services as communications director. Alexopoulos Farrar most recently has worked for the firm On 3 Public Relations.

KATHERINE SAN PEDRO has joined the lobbying firm Ballard Partners. Most recently, San Pedro has worked as external and legislative affairs regional director for AT&T Florida.

MELANIE BEVAN has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Statewide Council on Human Trafficking. Bevan, of Bradenton, is the Bradenton police chief.

BRENT BURNS has been appointed by the state Board of Governors to the Florida Atlantic University Board of Trustees. Burns is president and chief operating officer of JM Family Enterprises, Inc.

RICHARD EIDE has been appointed by the state Board of Governors to the Florida Gulf Coast University Board of Trustees. Eide is owner of Princess Palm Sales, LLC.

ROGER TOVAR has been appointed by the state Board of Governors to the Florida International University Board of Trustees. Tovar is owner and CEO of Palmetto57 Auto Group, AMS Group, Chicagoland Restaurants, and Albany Auto Group.

LOUIS SACO has been appointed by the state Board of Governors to the Florida Polytechnic University Board of Trustees. Saco is CEO of Watson Clinic, LLP and chair of Watson Clinic Foundation Board of Directors.

JIM HENDERSON has been appointed by the state Board of Governors to the Florida State University Board of Trustees. Henderson is past president and chief operating officer of Brown & Brown Insurance.

ANNE EGAN has been appointed by the state Board of Governors to the University of North Florida Board of Trustees. Egan is a pediatrician and partner at the Carithers Pediatric Group and section chief of pediatrics at St. Vincent's Hospital.

KIMBERLY MOORE has been reappointed by the state Board of Governors to the Florida A&M University Board of Trustees. Moore is vice president for workforce innovation at Tallahassee Community College.

GEORGE SKESTOS has been reappointed by the state Board of Governors to the New College of Florida Board of Trustees. Skestos is founder of Homewood Corporation, Trinity Home Builders and Franklin Bank.

BEVERLY SEAY has been reappointed by the state Board of Governors to the University of Central Florida Board of Trustees. Seay is executive director of the Nebraska Applied Research Institute.

SUZANNE LEWIS has been reappointed by the state Board of Governors to the University of West Florida Board of Trustees. Lewis is a management and leadership consultant and former superintendent of Yellowstone National Park.

JAMES “HARRELL” REID AND JEFFREY SIEGMEISTER have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Medical Examiners Commission. Reid, of Jasper, is sheriff of Hamilton County. Siegmeister, of Live Oak, is state attorney in the 3rd Judicial Circuit.

LARRY METZ has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Veterans' Hall of Fame Council. Metz, of Yalaha, is a member of the Florida House and has practiced with the Metz Law Firm P.A. since 2007.
