GEORGE MEROS has joined the Tallahassee office of Holland & Knight. Meros, a lawyer and lobbyist, previously worked at the firm GrayRobinson.

RONALD BRISE has joined the Gunster law firm in its government-affairs practice. Brise most recently has served on the Florida Public Service Commission and previously was a member of the Florida House.

SEAN STAFFORD, RHETT O'DOSKI AND RYDER RUDD have joined the firm McGuireWoods Consulting. Stafford, O'Doski and Rudd are lobbyists who were formerly with the Advantage Consulting Team.

KATHLEEN KING has been elected as a Florida Republican national committeewoman. King is chairwoman of the Manatee County Republican Party.

LEE BENTLEY AND JASON MEHTA have joined the Tampa office of the law firm Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP. Bentley is a former U.S attorney for the Middle District of Florida. Mehta is a former assistant U.S. attorney.

WILLIAM HARRIS has been named troop commander for Troop J of the Florida Highway Patrol. Harris is a 17-year veteran of the Highway Patrol and most recently has served as district commander within the Troop J Office of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement.

BLAKE GABLE has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Gulf Coast University Board of Trustees. Gable, of Naples, is chief executive officer at Barron Collier Companies.

KELVIN LAWSON AND MATTHEW CARTER have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida A&M University Board of Trustees. Lawson, of Jacksonville, is a vice president at Acosta Sales and Marketing. Carter, of Tallahassee, is an attorney and consultant with Carter and Associates. 

BRYN BLAISE, BRET JONES, MARCIA BUTLER AND TIM MORRIS have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Lake-Sumter State College Board of Trustees. Blaise, of The Villages, is construction manager for The Villages Commercial Property Management. Jones, of Clermont, is principal attorney and owner of the Law Offices of Bret Jones, P.A. Butler, of The Villages, previously taught in the Pinellas County school system. Morris, of Leesburg, is vice president of Ernie Morris Enterprises, Inc. 

ATHENA RANDOLPH AND KATHRYN MCINNIS have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Gateway College Board of Trustees. Randolph, of Lake City, is co-owner of Randolph Medical Practices. McInnis, of Old Town, is a retired occupational specialist for the Dixie County School Board.

KEVIN MADOK has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Keys Community College Board of Trustees. Madok, of Big Pine Key, is Monroe County clerk of courts.

DANIEL CALVO has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Occupational Therapy. Calvo, of Lakeland, is regional consultant of clinical services for Accelerated Care Plus.
