RYAN COHN, KAREN CYPHERS, LISA GARCIA, DREW PIERS AND HERBIE THIELE have been named partners at Sachs Media Group. Cohn is the firm's executive vice president. Cyphers is vice president of research and policy. Garcia is chief operating officer. Piers is director of campaigns. Thiele is director of public affairs.

JOHN STEWART has been chosen president-elect designate of The Florida Bar. Stewart, of Vero Beach, is a partner at Rossway Swan Tierney Barry Lacey & Oliver, P.L.

ALIX MILLER has been named vice president of the Florida Trucking Association. Miller's previous positions included serving as press secretary and speechwriter at the Florida Department of Education.

CESAR ALVAREZ has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida International University Board of Trustees. Alvarez, of Miami, is senior chairman of the Greenberg Traurig law firm.

VICKI DAVIS AND SANDY KRISCHKE have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Indian River State College Board of Trustees. Davis, of Stuart, is supervisor of elections for Martin County. Krischke, of Fort Pierce, is founder and president of Independence Classical Academy, Inc, and president of K2 Strategies, LLC.

CINDY HARTLEY-ROSS has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Polk State College Board of Trustees. Hartley-Ross, of Lakeland, is president of Organization Management LLC. 

BRIAN PENNINGTON AND SHANE ABBOTT have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Northwest Florida State College Board of Trustees. Pennington, of Shalimar, is the retired president of the TYBRIN Division of Jacobs Engineering. Abbott, of DeFuniak Springs, is co-owner of the Prescription Place of DeFuniak Springs and Niceville.

DAVID HOWELL, RICKY LYONS AND MIKE WILLIAMS have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the North Florida Community College Board of Trustees. Howell, of Jasper, is a retired soil scientist with the United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service. Lyons, of Mayo, is a retired clerk of court for Lafayette County. Williams, of Madison, is a financial adviser with Park Avenue Securities LLC. 

JOHN ROOD AND ADRIA STARKEY have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Prepaid College Board. Rood, of Jacksonville, is chairman of The Vestcor Companies, Inc. Starkey, of Naples, is Collier County president of FineMark National Bank & Trust.

KATHLEEN KELLY AND MARY MICA have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Governor's Mansion Commission. Kelly is a managing partner of Kevin's Fine Outdoor. Mica, of Tallahassee, is owner of Mary Mica Designs, LLC.

GUY SANCHEZ JR. AND RICHARD FRYER have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Real Estate Commission. Sanchez, of Orlando, is vice president and managing broker of Watson Realty Corp., Southwest Orlando office. Fryer, of Lake Mary, is president of the Institute of Florida Real Estate Careers, Inc.

MICHELLE MAINGOT, STEVEN PLATAU AND TRACY KEEGAN have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Accountancy. Maingot, of Tampa, is a certified public accountant and partner at Ernst & Young, LLP. Platau, of Tampa, is a professor at the University of Tampa. Keegan, of Naples, is executive vice president and chief financial officer of Atlantic Coast Bank.

JAY PICHARD AND AL MCCAMBRY have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Commission on Human Relations. Pichard, of Tallahassee, is owner of Remedy Staffing. McCambry, of Lynn Haven, is dean of workforce development at Gulf Coast State College.

JANELLE HORN has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Respiratory Care. Hom, of Orlando, is executive director of the American Lung Association of the Southeast, Inc.

GLENN RITCHEY, TOM MCCALL AND HAROLD GOODEMOTE have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Halifax Hospital Medical Center Board of Commissioners. Ritchey, of Daytona Beach, is president of Southeast Automotive Management. McCall, of Ormond Beach, is chief operating officer and chief financial officer of ICI Homes, Inc. Goodemote, of Daytona Beach, is vice president of Coleman Goodemote Construction.

REBECCA VACCARIELLO AND JAY ROTH have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Collier County Housing Authority. Vaccariello, of Naples, is an attorney with Gallagher Lutgert, LLP. Roth, of Naples, is the manager at Lutgert Insurance.
