JOHN KATOPODIS has been installed as president of the Florida Medical Association. Katopodis is a cardiologist with Southern Medical Group, P.A., in Tallahassee.

ELIZABETH DAVENPORT has become president of United Faculty of Florida. Davenport is a professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Counseling at Florida A&M University.

PIERCE SCHUESSLER has joined the legal and lobbying firm Metz Husband & Daughton. Schuessler served as chief of staff to Sen. Tom Lee, R-Thonotosassa, and previously served as director of legislative affairs for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.

ALEC YARGER has been named director of legislative affairs for the Florida Commission on Offender Review. Yarger previously served as deputy director of legislative affairs for the Department of Elder Affairs.

LEE BOULDIN, CARLOS MARTINEZ AND JONATHAN “NED” HANCOCK have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Citrus Commission. Bouldin, of Vero Beach, is a citrus shipper at DNE World Fruit. Martinez, of Orlando, is a procurement manager at the Coca-Cola Company. Hancock, of Sebring, is owner and president of Hancock Citrus, Inc.

JOSEPH J. MANSFIELD has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a Miami-Dade County judge. Mansfield, of Miami, has served as an assistant state attorney in the 11th Judicial Circuit since 2001.

RENATHA FRANCIS has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a Miami-Dade County judge. Francis, of Miami, practices with Shutts & Bowen, LLP.

WILLIAM F. HODGKINS, JENNIFER MARTINEZ MOONEY AND ELAINE TERENZI have been appointed by the Florida Supreme Court to the Florida Board of Bar Examiners. Hodgkins, of Lynn Haven, is a retired U.S. Air Force major general. Mooney, of Land O' Lakes, works in the legal department of the 13th Judicial Circuit. Terenzi, of Tampa, is president of Independent Business Group, LLC.

DON DEFOSSET has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Tampa Sports Authority. DeFosset, of Tampa, is founder and principal of the DJD Group.

RICHARD BRILLIANT has been named chairman of the FIU Foundation Board of Directors. Brilliant is chief audit officer for Carnival Corporation & plc.

DUDLEY GEYER, RAYMOND NEFF AND SUE BUNEVICH have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Continuing Care Advisory Council. Geyer, of Saint Johns, was a former area manager of Hewlett-Packard Company. Neff, of Sarasota, is president of Neff and Associates Home Office Services. Bunevich, of Tampa, is the principal of Clifton, Larson, Allen, LLP
