MIKE ADKINSON has been elected president of the Florida Sheriffs Association. Adkinson is the Walton County sheriff.

CHARLES SNIFFEN has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a judge in the 12th Judicial Circuit, which includes DeSoto, Manatee and Sarasota counties. Sniffen, of Parrish, has most recently served as a Manatee County judge.

JAMES JEFFERSON GOODMAN JR. has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a judge in the 14th Judicial Circuit, which includes Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson and Washington counties. Goodman, of Bonifay, has most recently worked as a solo practitioner,

JIM MURPHY has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Southwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board. Murphy, of Lakeland, is division president of Florida Sealing Products, Inc.

LATASHA GREEN-COBB has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Housing Finance Corporation. Green-Cobb, of Jacksonville, is chief executive officer of Empowered Action Corporation.

JEFFREY BROSCO has been named deputy secretary for Children's Medical Services at the Florida Department of Health. Brosco, a physician, currently serves as the Title V (Maternal and Child Health) statewide consultant for Children's Medical Services and is a professor of clinical pediatrics at the University Of Miami Miller School Of Medicine.

HOLLY RASCHEIN has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Defense Support Task Force. Raschein, of Key Largo, represents District 120 in the Florida House of Representatives.

MICHAEL YAWORSKY has been named chief of staff at the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation. Yaworsky most recently has worked as legal counsel for the Georgia Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner.

SCOTT HOPES has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Manatee County School Board. Hopes, of Bradenton, is chairman of CliniLinc, Inc, and CEO of Healthcare Management Decisions, Inc.

PETER RAMSBERGER has been named the 2017 recipient of the Chief Justice Award for Judicial Excellence. Ramsberger has served as a judge in the 6th Judicial Circuit since 1997 and previously was a Pinellas County judge.

CARL GUIDICE has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Employee Leasing Companies. Guidice, of Golden Oak, is chief executive officer of HR Outsourcing, Inc.
