JOHANNA CERVONE has been named deputy communications director and Hispanic press secretary for the Florida Democratic Party. Cervone most recently served as South Florida regional press secretary for the Hillary for Florida campaign.

STERLING IVEY has been named communications coordinator in the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's Office of External Affairs. Ivey most recently worked as vice president of corporate communications for SunTrust Banks.

VALERIE BREEN has been named executive director of the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council. Breen is a former CEO of the Brain Injury Association of Florida.

BARBARA FELDMAN has been selected to serve as provost and vice president for academic affairs at New College of Florida. Feldman, a professor of sociology, served as Bridgewater State University's provost from August 2014 to August 2016.

LOURDES DIAZ, MARK PAFFORD AND RON WATSON have been named to the board of the health-advocacy group Florida CHAIN. Diaz has worked in integrated marketing communications, media sales, public relations, political consulting and advertising. Pafford, a former House minority leader, most recently served as CEO of Florida CHAIN. Watson is director of government relations for AltMed and president of Watson Strategies.

SANDRA "SAM" HIMMEL has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Children and Youth Cabinet. Himmel, of Inverness, is the Citrus County superintendent of schools.

JOHN MITTEN has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Hernando County Commission. Mitten, of Brooksville, is a small-business owner

LATANYA PETERSON, DIANNE GOLDENBERG, GILBERT SINGER, REBECCA STEELE AND TONY JENKINS have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Commission on Human Relations. Peterson, of Fleming Island, is a regional consultant for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Goldenberg, of Lake Worth, is chief executive officer of Aventura Hospital and Medical Center. Singer, of Tampa, is an attorney and partner for Marcadis Singer, P.A. Steele, of Jacksonville, is former chief human resources officer for Acosta. Jenkins, of Orlando, is market president for Florida Blue.

PATTI KETCHAM has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Real Estate Commission. Ketcham, of Tallahassee, is owner of Ketcham Realty Group, Inc.

ROBERT BRAMLETT, KATHLEEN KRAK AND ERIC VILKOSKI have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Electrical Contractors Licensing Board. Bramlett, of Ocala, is president of Bramlett Electric, Inc. Krak, of Orlando, is a partner with Shutts and Bowen, LLP. Vilkoski, of Bradenton, is a retired quality and environmental manager with United Technologies.

MARK GOTZ has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the St. Lucie County Fire District. Gotz, of Port St. Lucie, is owner of School Development Group and M.H. Realty Associates, Inc.
