JOHN TUPPS has been named communications director for Gov. Rick Scott. Tupps is vice president of government relations for Visit Florida and previously served as deputy chief of staff at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

JOHN ROOD has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Prepaid College Board. Rood, of Jacksonville, is chairman of The Vestcor Companies, Inc.

GARY WENDT has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Polytechnic University Board of Trustees. Wendt, of Fort Lauderdale, is chairman of Deerpath Capital Management, LP and previously served as chief executive officer of GE Capital.

SAMUEL “BO” SPRING AND JON COSTELLO have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Northwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board. Spring, of Port St. Joe, is the managing member of Big Fish Construction LLC. Costello, of Tallahassee, is a governmental consultant with Rutledge Ecenia P.A.

DANIEL O'KEEFE AND FEDERICO FERNANDEZ have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the South Florida Water Management District Governing Board. O'Keefe, of Windermere, is an attorney with Shutts & Bowen LLP. Fernandez, of Coral Gables, is an attorney with DiFalco and Fernandez LLLP.

MICHELLE WILLIAMSON, BRYAN BESWICK AND MARK C. TAYLOR have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Southwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board. Williamson, of Dover, is a manager at G & F Farms. Beswick, of Arcadia, is a grove manager with Premier Citrus Management LLC. Taylor, of Brooksville, is president of TTG Properties Inc.

DOUGLAS BOURNIQUE has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the St. Johns River Water Management District Governing Board. Bournique, of Indian River, is executive vice president of the Indian River Citrus League.

THOMAS NAPIER has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the State Retirement Commission. Napier, of Tallahassee, is a former special projects manager for the Leon County clerk of circuit court.

REGGIE CARDOZO, JANEE MURPHY, RYAN RAY, SCOTT KOSANOVICH, NEIL SPENCER AND ALEC POLANSKY have been named to positions with the Florida Democrats' House Victory. Cardozo, who will be general consultant, served as deputy state director for 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's campaign in Florida. Murphy, who will serve as senior adviser, is a partner at Community Partners Consulting. Ray, who will serve as communications director, has worked as a reporter and was regional field director with Gwen Graham's 2014 campaign for Congress. Kosanovich, who will serve as voter contact director, most recently worked as deputy organizing director for the Clinton campaign in Florida. Spencer, who will serve as House Victory assistant, was a field organizer for the Clinton campaign in Pinellas County. Polansky was an intern for the House Minority Office.

ROOSEVELT HOLMES, JOHANNA CERVONE, GEORGETTE BRAMMER, AMIR AHMADIAVIN AND ERICKA ANN GROHOSKI PERALTA have been named to positions at the Florida Democratic Party. Holmes, who has been deputy political director, will serve as political director. Cervone, who has been deputy communications director, will serve as communications director. Brammer, whose previous positions included working five years in the U.S. Department of Transportation, will serve as deputy finance director. Ahmadiavin, who was deputy campaign manager for congressional candidate Joe Garcia in 2016, will serve as communications specialist. Peralta, who has worked as a community and campaign organizer in Miami, will serve as a field specialist.

RENE PLASENCIA has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Control for Southern Regional Education. Plasencia, of Orlando, is member of the Florida House and is a district relations manager with Florida Virtual School.

PAUL WEOTT has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Orthotists and Prosthetists. Weott, of Bradenton, is owner of Orthotic and Prosthetic Centers, Inc.

BABU VARGHESE AND PANKAJ SHAH have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Professional Engineers. Varghese, of Davie, is president of Abtech Engineering, Inc. Shah, of Clearwater, is former chief executive officer of Cumbey and Fair, Inc.

NICOLE ATTONG AND PATRICIA A. LIPOVSKY have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Rehabilitation Council for the Blind. Attong, of Miami, is director for Florida International University, Embrace. Lipovsky, of Daytona Beach, is a self-employed property manager. 

RICHARD DEL TORO JR. AND CARMINE IZZO JR have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Children's Services Council of St. Lucie County. Del Toro, of Port St. Lucie, is assistant police chief in Port St. Lucie. Izzo, of Port St. Lucie, is a lieutenant at the Port St. Lucie Police Department. 

RANDOLPH CASH has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Collier County Housing Authority. Cash, of Naples, is president of Flamingo Air Management, Inc.
