SALLY BOYNTON BROWN has been named president of the Florida Democratic Party. Boynton Brown has most recently served as national president of the Association of State Democratic Executive Directors.

WILL WEATHERFORD, PAT GERAGHTY, PAM IORIO, RHEA LAW AND JEFF VINIK have been appointed to the Tampa Electric Company Board of Directors. Weatherford is managing partner of Weatherford Partners and a former House speaker. Geraghty is chief executive officer of Florida Blue and its parent company GuideWell Mutual Holding Corp. Iorio is president and chief executive officer of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and is a former Tampa mayor. Law is chair of the Florida offices of the Buchanan Ingersoll and Rooney PA law firm. Vinik is owner of the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team.

ROBERT ALAN ARTHUR AND CAROL STEPHENSON have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as judges of compensation claims in the Lakeland and West Palm Beach districts, respectively. Arthur, of Brandon, served as a state mediator for the Lakeland district since 2012. Stephenson, of Boynton Beach, is field legal counsel for Liberty Mutual at the Law Offices of James C. Norris.

WILBUR ANDERSON, DIANE BECK, MARGRET KERR, DANIEL A. LEWIS, ELLEN H. LORENZEN, MARK A. MASSEY, STEPHEN L. ROSEN AND THOMAS SCULCO have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott as judges of compensation claims. Anderson, of Daytona Beach Shores, has served as a judge of compensation claims for the Daytona Beach district since 2013. Beck, of Bradenton, has been a judge of compensation claims for the Sarasota district since 1995. Kerr, of South Miami, has been a judge of compensation claims for the Miami district since 2013. Lewis, of Davie, has been a judge of compensation claims for the Fort Lauderdale district since 1988. Lorenzen, of Tampa, has been a judge of compensation claims for the Tampa district since 2004. Massey, of Tampa, has been a judge of compensation claims in the Tampa district since 2013. Rosen, of Tampa, has been a judge of compensations claims since 2009, serving the Jacksonville, Lakeland, Fort Myers, West Palm Beach, and St. Petersburg districts during that time. Sculco, of Winter Park, has been a judge of compensation claims in the Orlando district since 2005.

HOLGER CIUPALO AND TOM NAPIER have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the State Retirement Commission. Ciupalo, of Tallahassee, is policy chief for the finance and economic analysis unit of the governor's Office of Policy and Budget. Napier, of Tallahassee, is a former special projects manager for the Leon County clerk of circuit court.

BRIDGETTE BELLO has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the St. Petersburg College Board of Trustees. Bello, of Seminole, is president of the Tampa Bay Business Journal. 

CARINA BLACKMORE has been named director of the Division of Disease Control and Health Protection at the Florida Department of Health. Blackmore has held a series of positions at the department, including serving from 2014 to 2016 as chief of the Bureau of Public Health Laboratories.

C.J. DAVILA has been named executive director of the Florida Green Building Coalition. Davila most recently worked as director for the Orlando Regional Realtor Foundation.

CHARLOTTE HESTON AND ASHLEY COONE have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Early Learning Coalition of Florida's Heartland. Heston, of Sebring, is vice president of corporate services for the Peace River Electric Cooperative. Coone, of Arcadia, serves as president of ASC Consulting and Marketing.

ROBERT COLEN has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Early Learning Coalition of Marion County. Colen, of Ocala, is a building contractor with On Top of the World Communities.
