DAVID COX has been named staff director of the Florida Senate Democratic Office. Cox has served as a senior legislative analyst for House Democrats and previously worked as a newspaper reporter.

MCKINLEY LEWIS has been named press secretary at the Florida Department of Corrections. Lewis' previous experience included working at the Florida Department of Health.

ANN MELINDA CRAGGS has been appointed as a judge in the 5th Judicial Circuit, which includes Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion and Sumter counties. Craggs, of Ocala, has practiced with the firm Bond, Arnett, Phelan, Smith & Craggs, P.A.

PAUL MYERS has been named interim deputy secretary for statewide services at the Florida Department of Health. Myers most recently has worked as administrator of the Florida Department of Health in Alachua County.

TINA DORSEY AND KENNETHA JULIEN have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Center for Nursing Board of Directors. Dorsey, of Niceville, is on the nursing faculty at Chipola College. Julien, of Saint Johns, is an attorney.

FREDERICK SCHAERF, AMANDA SMITH, KEN BRUMMEL-SMITH, MARIANA B. DANGIOLO, LEILANI DOTY, JACQUELINE C. WILTSHIRE, TODD E. GOLDE, LEONARD PETRUCELLI, RANJAN DUARA, NEILL GRAFF-RADFORD AND CLINTON WRIGHT have been appointed by state Surgeon General John Armstrong to the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Grant Advisory Board. Schaerf is director of the Neuropsychiatric Research Center of Southwest Florida. Smith is medical director of the USF Health Byrd Alzheimer's Institute at the University of South Florida. Brummel-Smith is chairman of the Department of Geriatrics at Florida State University. Dangiolo is an assistant professor of family medicine and geriatrics at the University of Central Florida. Doty is director of the Cognitive and Memory Disorder Clinic and an associate scientist in the Department of Neurology at the University of Florida. Wiltshire is an assistant professor of health policy and management in the College of Public Health at the University of South Florida. Golde is director of the Center for Translational Research in Neurodegenerative Disease and a professor in the Department of Neuroscience in the College of Medicine at the University of Florida. Petrucelli is chairman of the Department of Neuroscience and a professor of neuroscience at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville. Duara is medical director of the Wien Center for Alzheimer’s Disease and Memory Disorders at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Graff-Radford is a professor of neurology at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville. Wright is an associate professor of neurology and scientific director of the Evelyn F. McKnight Brain Institute at the University of Miami.

THOMAS M. CORNISH, RICHARD BRILLIANT, KATHRYN G. CHASE, ADALIO T. SANCHEZ AND CARLOS B. CASTILLO have been appointed as officers on the Florida International University Foundation Board of Directors. Cornish, who will serve as the board's chairman, is the president of Florida for BankUnited. Brilliant, who will serve as a vice chairman, is chief audit officer for Carnival Corporation & plc. Chase, who will serve as a vice chairwoman, is regional president of the Consumer Bank for the eastern region for Citibank. Sanchez, who will serve as treasurer, is senior vice president of enterprise systems at Lenovo Ltd. Castillo, who will serve as secretary, is a partner at Ring Bender McKown & Castillo LLLP.

MARISOL HERNANDEZ AND KRISTOPHER CRUZADA have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Seminole County Housing Authority. Hernandez, of Oviedo, is an employee of Publix. Cruzada, of Oviedo, is a self-employed attorney.
