STEPHANIE GRUTMAN has joined the lobbying firm Ballard Partners. Grutman, of Weston, has served as finance director of Senate Victory for the Florida Democratic Party and previously was deputy chief of staff to former state Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink.

SHEYLA ASENCIOS has been named deputy political director in charge of Hispanic outreach at the Florida Democratic Party. Asencios' previous positions have included Central Florida Hispanic outreach coordinator for the party.

JULIE FESS has joined the lobbying and association-management firm Wilson & Associates LLC. Fess has worked as a lobbyist and held legislative staff positions, including with former House Speaker Dean Cannon.

ROBERT GIDEL SR., IRIS GONZALEZ AND DAME DHYANA ZIEGLER have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Virtual School Board of Trustees. Gidel, of Windermere, is managing partner at Liberty Capital. Gonzalez, of Tierra Verde, is corporate director of multicultural strategies at Bright House Networks. Ziegler, of Tallahassee, is the Garth C. Reeves Eminent Scholar Endowed Chair of Excellence in the School of Journalism and Graphic Communication at Florida A&M University.

TONY MARSHALL has been named president and CEO of the Georgia Health Care Association. Marshall previously served as senior director of reimbursement for the Florida Health Care Association.

DOROTHY "DOTTI" GROOVER-SKIPPER, DOUG LEONARDO, PEGGY SAPP AND JOHN VAN DELINDER have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Statewide Drug Policy Advisory Council. Groover-Skipper, of Tampa, is founder of HeartDance Foundation Inc and divisional anti-trafficking coordinator for the Salvation Army Florida Divisional Headquarters. Leonardo, of Lutz, is executive director of BayCare Behavioral Health. Sapp, of Surfside, is president and chief executive officer of Informed Families. Van Delinder, of Callahan, is executive director of the Sunshine State Association of Christian Schools.

MALCOLM "MAC" KEMP has been appointed to the state Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council. Kemp is deputy chief of clinical affairs for Leon County Emergency Medical Services.

DARLENE SILVERNAIL has been appointed to the state Advisory Council of Medical Physicists. Silvernail is executive director of the Florida Mental Health Counselors Association and a clinical supervisor for Total Recovery Now.

BRAD ETHERIDGE has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Levy County School Board. Etheridge, of Williston, is the owner of Etheridge Cattle Company LLC.

PATRICIA EVANS, JOHN KEVIN MILLER, DEAN WEAVER, KELLEY DYAL AND VIRGIL BERY have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Bradford County Development Authority. Evans, of Starke, is community president of Bradford and Clay Counties for Capital City Bank. Miller, of Starke, is assistant publisher of the Bradford County Telegraph. Weaver, of Starke, is a Realtor for Watson Realty. Dyal, of Brooker, is an engineer with Clay Electric Co-op Inc. Berry, of Starke, is a chiropractic physician.

AILEEN M. MARTY has been appointed to the federal Presidential Advisory Council on Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria. Marty, an infectious-disease specialist, is a professor at Florida International University's Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.
