MAGDALENA AVERHOFF, STEVEN ROSENBERG AND HECTOR VILA have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Board of Medicine. Averhoff, of Miami, has been chief medical officer of Jackson South Community Hospital since 2011. Rosenberg, of West Palm Beach, is a dermatologist for Palm Beach Dermatology, Inc. Vila, of Tampa, is a founding partner and vice president of Pediatric Dental Anesthesiology Associates.

BETH KIDDER has been named interim Medicaid director at the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration. Kidder has served as assistant deputy secretary for Medicaid policy and quality.

ELLYN BOGDANOFF has joined the firm Becker & Poliakoff. Bogdanoff, a Fort Lauderdale Republican, is a former member of the state House and the state Senate.

ANDREW KETCHEL has joined the lobbying firm Capital City Consulting, LLC. Ketchel most recently served as legislative affairs director at the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.

KATHY TIMES has been named executive associate director of the Florida A&M University Office of Communications. Times' background includes working as president of the public-relations firm Yellow Brick Media Concepts and as a news anchor in Jackson, Miss.

CARLOS GAZITUA has joined the board of directors of Visit Florida. Gazitua is president and CEO of Sergio's Restaurants.

ELIZABETH MILLER has been named state president, Florida, for WellCare Health Plans. Miller has served as the Florida market's chief operating officer.

CAROLYN GILBERT EPSTEIN has joined the law firm Colodny Fass. Epstein is a former assistant state attorney in Miami-Dade County.

GABY GUADALUPE has been named media relations coordinator for the American Civil Liberties Union of Florida. Guadalupe most recently worked at Republica.

ROD THOMSON has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Trustees of the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota. Thomson, of Sarasota, is president and owner of The Thomson Group.

ROAYA TYSON has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Statewide Drug Policy Advisory Council. Tyson, of Tampa, is chief operating officer of Gracepoint Mental Health Center.

DAVID HANKLA AND ROBERT ATKINS have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Boating Advisory Council. Hankla, of St. Augustine, is a self-employed environmental and wildlife conservation consultant. Atkins, of Merritt Island, is a retired senior manager for Lockheed Martin.

SUSAN VADAPARAMPIL has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Biomedical Research Advisory Council. Vadaparampil, of Lakeland, is a senior member at the Moffitt Cancer Center.

JAMES "NELSON" BRADSHAW has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Development Finance Corp. Bradshaw, of Jacksonville Beach, is the Northeast Florida chief executive officer of BBVA Compass.

BENNETT BARROW has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Tampa-Hillsborough County Expressway Authority. Barrow, of Tampa, is vice president of Barrow Asset Management.

GEORGE BALLANTYNE AND EDWARD SCOTT have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Fort Myers Beach Public Library District Board. Ballantyne, of Fort Myers Beach, is a retired project manager for NIBCO, Inc. Scott, of Fort Myers Beach, is a retired repairman.

PAULA DEBOLES-JOHNSON AND ERIN VANSICKLE have been elected to leadership posts with the Tallahassee/Leon County Commission on the Status of Women and Girls. DeBoles-Johnson, who will serve as chair, is a program manager with Volunteer Florida, managing AmeriCorps programs across the state. VanSickle, who will serve as vice-chair, is director of external affairs for Volunteer Florida.
