JOE FOLLICK has been named director of communications and external relations at Florida TaxWatch. Follick previously served as communications director at the Florida Department of Education and the Florida Department of Children and Families and also was a newspaper reporter for 17 years.

KATIE EDWARDS has joined the Fort Lauderdale office of the law firm Arnstein & Lehr LLP. Edwards, who is of counsel at the firm, is a Democratic state House member from Plantation.

VERN BUCHANAN has been named chairman of the Human Resources Subcommittee of the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee. Buchanan, a Republican, represents Florida's Congressional District 16.

ROB FIELDS has joined One Eighty Consulting. Fields most recently has served as chief information officer at the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and has held positions at the Agency for Health Care Administration and the Department of Financial Services.

CATHERINE DREW has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Psychology. Drew, of Fernandina Beach, is a psychologist and chief executive officer for Florida Psychological Associates, LLC.

JENNIFER WASYLYNA has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Massage Therapy. Wasylyna, of Wesley Chapel, is a massage therapist and owner of Health and Healing Touch Wellness Center.

JOSEPH CHEBLI AND NANCY MURPHY have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Diabetes Advisory Council. Chebli, of Sarasota, is a surgeon for Venice Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Murphy, of Plantation, is a national compliance manager for Crawford and Company.

RAMONA JOHNSTON AND LOUIS SHEPHERD have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scottto the Florida Highway Beautification Council. Johnston, of Coconut Creek, is a member of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs Inc. Shepherd, of Altamonte Springs, is urban forestry coordinator with the Florida Forest Service.

HEATHER HUFFMAN has been appointed as the health officer for the Florida Department of Health in Clay County. Huffman has served since 2004 as the WIC Public Health Nutrition Program director for the Florida Department of Health in Nassau County.
