LISA EDGAR has been elected president of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners. Edgar has served on the Florida Public Service Commission since 2005.

STEVE KNOPIK has been elected chairman of the Florida Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors. Knopik has been the chief executive officer of Beall's Inc. since August 2006.

MICHELLE DAHNKE has been appointed by state Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater as deputy CFO of the Florida Department of Financial Services. Dahnke most recently served as deputy communications director for Gov. Rick Scott and also has worked as director of communications and multimedia for the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration.

ADRIAN WYLLIE will work as a lobbyist for the Liberty First Network. Wyllie most recently was the Libertarian candidate for governor.

JAMES A. EDWARDS has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a judge on the 5th District Court of Appeal. Edwards, of Altamonte Springs, most recently has been a shareholder with Zimmerman, Kiser, Sutcliffe, PA.

HOWARD O. MCGILLIN JR. has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a judge in the 7th Judicial Circuit, which includes St. Johns, Flagler, Putnam and Volusia counties. McGillin, of St. Augustine, is the founder of the Allegiance Law Group.

JAMES CRANER II has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a judge in the 9th Judicial Circuit, which includes Orange and Osceola counties. Craner, of Orlando, most recently has served as an Orange County judge.

KELLY PAIGE BUTZ has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a Polk County judge. Butz, of Winter Haven, has practiced with Sharit, Bunn & Chilton, PA, since 1998.

SUSAN MILLER JONES has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as an Alachua County judge. Jones, of Gainesville, has served as a general magistrate in the 8th Judicial Circuit since 2009.

GINGER GOLDEN BOUK, MICHAEL GRIFFIN AND KRISTIN HUAL have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the 1st Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission. Bouk, of Gulf Breeze, is an intelligence specialist with the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Griffin is a criminal defense practitioner in Pensacola. Hual, of Pensacola, is an assistant county attorney in Escambia County.

CHARLES WEDDLE, ROLYNDA LEE MCARTHUR SCOTT AND ANTHONY GRAHAM have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the 14th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission. Weddle, of Panama City, is an associate with Harrison Sale McCloy. Scott, of Panama City, is a self-employed attorney and mediator. Graham, of Panama City, is a sole practitioner specializing in criminal defense law.

TIMOTHY THOMES AND DAVID VAN LOON have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the 16th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission. Thomes, of Key Largo, is a partner with the Gunster law firm. Van Loon, of Key West, is a partner with Highsmith & Van Loon P.A.

WILLIAM MCCORMICK, SIDNEY CALLOWAY AND D. DAVID KELLER have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the 17th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission. McCormick, of Margate, is a partner with GrayRobinson P.A. Calloway, of Davie, is a partner with Shutts Bowen LLP. Keller, of Plantation, is the president and a partner at Keller Landsberg P.A.

PHILIP NOHRR AND JEFFREY WEISS have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the 18th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission. Nohrr, of Indialantic, is a partner with GrayRobinson P.A. Weiss, of Longwood, is a partner with Brown, Garganese, Weiss & D'Agresta P.A.

TIM STANFIELD has joined the lobbying practice at the firm Pennington P.A. Stanfield previously worked for the firm Colodny Fass.

ALAN SUSKEY has formed Suskey Consulting, a government-affairs and business-development consulting firm. Suskey formerly was with the lobbying firm Capitol Insight.

SARAH PROCTOR has joined Bascom Communications & Consulting, LLC as a communications assistant. Proctor's previous experience includes an internship in the office of U.S. Rep. Daniel Webster, R-Fla.

KELLY CURTIS, BERNARDO DIAS, RANDY DUNLAP, RICHARD EDWARDS, ADAM FREEMAN, KENNETH "JUSTIN" LORD, TROY MASCHMEYER, ANTONIO OBREGON, JAMES PAINTER, MATTHEW SITTER AND CHARLES “PRESTON” SPARKMAN have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Concrete Masonry Education Council. Curtis, of Windermere, is the vice president and general manager of Prestige Concrete Products. Dias, of Miami Beach, is the president of Central Concrete Supermix Inc. Dunlap, of West Palm Beach, is the president of Titan Florida LLC. Edwards, of Port Charlotte, is the area manager of Argos. Freeman, of Orlando, is the president of A-1 Block Corporation. Lord, of Fort Lauderdale, is the president and chief executive officer of Central Broward Construction. Maschmeyer, of Palm Beach, is the president and chief executive officer of Maschmeyer Concrete Company of Florida. Obregon, of Boca Raton, is the president and chief executive officer of Formrite Construction LLC. Painter, of Gainesville, is the vice president and chief executive officer of Painter Masonry Inc. Sitter, of Orlando, is vice president of Florida Concrete & Products Association Inc. Sparkman, of Plant City, is the vice president of sales with Quality Precast Company.
