JOHN L. BADALAMENTI has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a judge on the 2nd District Court of Appeal. Badalamenti, of Tampa, has served an assistant in the appellate division of the Office of Federal Defender, Middle District of Florida, since 2006.

CHRISTOPHER NASH AND MARK D. KISER have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as judges in the 13th Judicial Circuit in Hillsborough County. Nash, of Tampa, most recently has served as a Hillsborough County judge. Kiser, of Tampa, has practiced with the Trenam Kemker firm since 2003.

COLEMAN LEE ROBINSON has been named by Gov. Rick Scott as a judge in the 1st Judicial Circuit, which includes Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, and Walton counties. Robinson, of Pensacola, has served as an assistant state attorney since 1994.

NINA WEATHERLY DI PIETRO has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a Broward County judge. Di Pietro, of Fort Lauderdale, has practiced with the law offices of David Di Pietro, P.A. since 2013.

WILLIAM "BILL" PROCTOR has been chosen by House Speaker Steve Crisafulli to serve on the Florida Standards Assessment Review Selection Panel. Proctor is chancellor of Flagler College and a former member of the state House.

JOSEPH JOYNER has been chosen by Gov. Rick Scott to serve on the Florida Standards Assessment Review Selection Panel. Joyner is superintendent of the St. Johns County School District.

JONATHAN BARBAR, CHARLES CLARY AND EDWARD "BUTCH" SIMPSON have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Directors of Florida Health Choices Inc. Barbar, of Boca Raton, is executive vice president of Barbar and Associates LLC. Clary, of Destin, is an architect with DAG Architects and a former state senator. Simpson, of Ponce Inlet, is a self-employed legal consultant.

MARA BURGER has been named press secretary at the Florida Department of Health. Most recently, Burger served as a public information specialist with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.

JENNIFER BROOMFIELD has been hired by Florida State University to serve as its Title IX director. Broomfield most recently has worked for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as manager of the National Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Program
