SIMONE MARSTILLER has formed The Marstiller Firm, P.A., which will provide appellate consulting and litigation services. Marstiller retired in December as a judge on the 1st District Court of Appeal and previously held positions such as secretary of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

DANIELLE ALVAREZ has been named vice president of public relations for Mercury Florida. Alvarez most recently served as director of external affairs at Enterprise Florida and previously served as press secretary for Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera.

JEFFREY BISSAINTHE has been named chief of public affairs for the Florida Highway Patrol. Bissainthe, a captain, has almost 20 years of experience as a highway patrol trooper.

KEMBA LEWIS has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a judge in the 6th Judicial Circuit, which includes Pasco and Pinellas counties. Lewis, of Land O' Lakes, has served as an assistant public defender in the 6th Circuit since 2002.
 
STEPHEN S. EVERETT has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a Leon County judge. Everett, of Tallahassee, has served as assistant general counsel for the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity since 2012.

KELLY ECKLEY has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a Duval County judge. Eckley, of Jacksonville, has served as chief assistant statewide prosecutor for the attorney general since 2014.

AMY P. BRODERSON AND KERRA A. SMITH have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as Escambia County judges. Broderson, of Pensacola, has served as general counsel for the Pensacola Police Department since 2013. Smith, of Pensacola, has served as an assistant county attorney for Escambia County since 2013.

ANDREW MORGAN has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the 7th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission. Morgan, of St. Augustine, is a partner with Canan Law, P.A.

NANCY CASON AND RONALD FILIPKOWSKI have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the 12th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission. Cason, of Sarasota, is a managing partner with Syprett, Meshad, Resnick, Lieb, Dumbaugh, Jones, Krotec & Westheimer, P.A. Filipkowski, of Sarasota, is a partner with the Filipkowski Law Group.

DREW GRAHAM has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Institute for the Commercialization of Public Research Board of Directors. Graham, of Tampa, is a managing partner with Ballast Point Ventures.
