BRADY J. BENFORD has joined the lobbying firm Ballard Partners. Benford previously worked as a governmental affairs consultant for Gunster, Yoakley & Stewart P.A.

HAROLD L. "TREY" PRICE has formed the advocacy firm Price Point Strategies, LLC, which will focus on state and local government in Florida. Price worked the past 14 years as an in-house lobbyist for Florida Realtors.

MYRIAM IRIZARRY has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a Pinellas County judge. Irizarry, of Palm Harbor, has served as chief deputy and general counsel to the clerk of the circuit court for Pinellas County since 2003.

DINA A. KEEVER AND SCOTT IRA SUSKAUER have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as judges in the 15th Judicial Circuit, which includes Palm Beach County. Keever, of Palm Beach Gardens, most recently has practiced with McCabe Rabin, P.A. Suskauer, of Palm Beach Gardens, most recently has practiced with the Suskauer Law Firm, P.A.

NIRLAINE TALLANDIER SMARTT has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a St. Lucie County judge. Smartt, of Port St. Lucie, most recently served as an assistant state attorney in the 19th judicial circuit.

THOMAS D. "BO" WINOKUR has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a judge on the 1st District Court of Appeal. Winokur, of Tallahassee, most recently worked as an assistant general counsel in the governor's office.

DOUGLAS BURNETT has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the University of North Florida Board Of Trustees. Burnett, of St. Augustine, is a retired adjutant general of the Florida National Guard.

LOIS KNOX has been named regional director of the Florida Small Business Development Center at Florida Gulf Coast University. Knox has served as a grant manager for the University of West Florida.

DANIEL DIAZ LEYVA has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Miami Dade College Board of Trustees. Diaz Leyva, of Miami, is an attorney with Foley & Lardner.

DAVID R. MAYMON has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Broward College Board of Trustees. Maymon, of Fort Lauderdale, has been the owner of Advocate Home Care since 2007.

THOMAS KINCHEN has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Commission for Independent Education. Kinchen, of Graceville, is president of the Baptist College of Florida.

MICHAEL PRESTON has been named executive director of the Florida Consortium of Metropolitan Research Universities, which is made up of Florida International University, the University of Central Florida and the University of South Florida. Preston has served as director of the Office of Student Involvement at the University of Central Florida.

MANTHA YOUNG has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Early Learning Coalition of Florida's Gateway. Young, of Jasper, is president of North Central Florida Advertiser Inc.

JOSEPH JERNIGAN has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Early Learning Coalition of Northwest Florida. Jernigan, of Graceville, is owner of Jernigan Forest Products and Arnold Lumber Company.

PHILIP GASSMAN has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Early Learning Coalition of Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties. Gassman, of Miami, is executive vice president and managing director of professional and executive banking for Marquis Bank.
