STEPHEN JAMES has been named director of the Office of Water Policy at the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. James most recently served as the senior associate director of public policy and legislative staff attorney for the Florida Association of Counties

CORINNE MIXON AND JESSICA JANASIEWICZ have joined the law and lobbying firm Rutledge Ecenia PA. Mixon and Janasiewicz have worked for the lobbying firm Mixon & Associates.

JOE FOLLICK has been named state communications director for the Foundation for Excellence in Education. Follick most recently served as communications director at Florida TaxWatch.

ROB JOHNSON has joined The Mayernick Group government-relations firm. Johnson has served as director of legislative and Cabinet affairs for Attorney General Pam Bondi.

PETER F. MURRAY has joined the firm Colodny Fass as a governmental consultant. Murray most recently served as director of legislative affairs for the Florida Commission on Offender Review.

ALIX MILLER has joined the firm On 3 Public Relations. Miller, who will serve as a vice president of accounts, has worked as press secretary and a speechwriter at the Florida Department of Education.

GENE MORAN has been named executive director of the Florida Defense Contractors Association. Moran, a retired U.S. Navy captain, is founder and president of the government-relations firm Capitol Integration.

PAUL MYERS has been named deputy secretary for county health systems at the Florida Department of Health. Myers most recently served as acting deputy secretary for county health systems and as administrator of the Florida Department of Health in Alachua County.

RONALD BRISE has been reappointed to the Federal Communications Commission's Intergovernmental Advisory Committee. Brise is a member of the Florida Public Service Commission.

W. LEE BOWERS has been named chief operating officer, Florida, for WellCare Health Plans, Inc. Bowers most recently has worked as vice president of national duals, Medicaid and long-term services and supports network for Humana.

GREGORY HANSEN has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Flagler County Commission. Hansen, of Palm Coast, is a retired captain in the United States Navy and previously served as the head appropriations committee liaison for the Office of the Navy Comptroller.

DOTTIE PEOPLES, BEN GIRTMAN, DREXEL COLLINS, JANICE ANCRUM, KERRY MARSALEK, LARRY POWELL, LANCE JARVIS, KATHLEEN RICE, KELLY WILSON, WILLIAM EDELSTEIN, EDELINE MONDESTIN AND RICK DAVIS have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Department of Elderly Affairs Advisory Council. Peoples, of Navarre, is former executive director of the Northwest Florida Area Agency on Aging. Girtman, of Tallahassee, is a retired attorney and Navy captain. Collins, of Ocala, is a former inspector for Public Service Enterprise Group. Ancrum, of Fernandina Beach, is executive director of the Nassau County Council on Aging. Marsalek, of Clearwater, is the manager for the Clearwater Office on Aging. Powell, of Winter Haven, is a former program specialist for the Alzheimer's Association, Florida Gulf Coast Chapter. Jarvis, of Melbourne, is a former professor for the University of Central Florida and the current area coordinator of SHINE. Rice, of Sanibel, is former president and chief operating officer of Summa Cuyahoga Falls Hospital. Wilson, of Royal Palm Beach, is a publisher at Fairfax Publishing. Edelstein, of Fort Lauderdale, is an administrator at Memorial Manor. Mondestin, of Miami, is the R.N. chief of the Miami-Dade Community Action and Human Services Department. Davis, of North Miami Beach is a retired private investigator.
