MIKE HARRELL, MALLORY HARRELL, DOUG BELL, SAM BELL, JIM DEBEAUGRINE, MARNIE GEORGE AND TIM STANFIELD will join the Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney government-affairs firm. They have most recently been with the Pennington P.A. firm.

PAM STEWART, CHRISTIE BASSETT, MANNY DIAZ JR., MARGARET FAHRINGER, DORIS GARCIA, JULIA HENDRICKS, PATTY HIGHTOWER, JOE PICKENS, OWEN ROBERTS, KELLI STARGEL AND LAURA ZORC have been named to the Keep Florida Learning Committee. Stewart is the Florida education commissioner. Bassett, of Polk County, is the 2015 Florida Teacher of the Year. Diaz is a Republican House member from Hialeah. Fahringer is a school principal from Miami-Dade County. Garcia is a teacher from Orange County. Hendricks is a parent from Pasco County. Hightower is a school-board member from Escambia County. Pickens, of Putnam County, is president of St. Johns River State College. Roberts is superintendent of Alachua County schools. Stargel is a Republican senator from Lakeland. Zorc is a parent from Indian River County.

DANIEL NORDBY has been named by Chairman Blaise Ingoglia as general counsel to the Republican Party of Florida. Nordby is a partner with the Tallahassee office of Shutts & Bowen LLP.

DOUG HOLDER has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority. Holder, of Osprey, is a former member of the Florida House.

JON MILLER AND BEN "BG" MURPHY have been named to positions in state Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater's administration. Miller, who will serve as communications director, most recently worked as director of government, community relations and development for Keiser University. Murphy, who will serve as deputy legislative affairs director, most recently worked as a legislative assistant to state Rep. Halsey Beshears, R-Monticello.

JAMES MILLER has been named communications director at the Florida Retail Federation. Miller most recently worked as vice president of communications & marketing for the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce and affiliated programs.

MARY KASSABAUM will work as a legislative assistant for state Sen. Wilton Simpson, R-Trilby. Kassabaum has worked in the House and Senate, including for the Senate Community Affairs Committee, Environmental Preservation and Conservation Committee and Commerce and Tourism Committee.

JOE MARINO has been named chief operations officer for Florida is for Veterans Inc. Marino most recently has worked as president of the Florida Defense Contractors Association.

KAREN CYPHERS has been named vice president of research and policy at Sachs Media Group. Cyphers' previous positions included director of health care policy for the Florida Medical Association.

ALEX MIRANDA will work for the Republican Party of Florida, House Majority 2016. Miranda most recently has served as chief of staff for the city of Miami Beach.

FATIMA PEREZ has been named chief of staff for the city of Miami Beach. Perez's previous positions include working as a senior adviser to former Miami Mayor Manny Diaz and as a senior legislative aide in the Florida Senate and House of Representatives.

EDGAR G. FERNANDEZ has joined the Anfield Consulting public-affairs firm. Fernandez most recently served as a senior assistant at the Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer Department.

RICHARD GOFF, OSCAR CALLEJA, FREDERICK SCHILLING AND JAMES SCHOCK have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Building Commission. Goff, of Niceville, is president of KG II Development. Calleja, of Palmetto Bay, is vice president of Engineered Air LLC. Schilling, of Boca Raton, is chief executive officer of Pipeline Plumbing. Schock, of St. Augustine, is a plans examiner for St. Johns County.

J. JEFF GRABER, JAY PICHARD AND SANDRA TURNER have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Commission on Human Relations. Graber, of Longwood, is president of Alexander Aviation Associates Inc. Pichard, of Tallahassee, is owner of Pichard Holdings LLC. Turner, of Winter Springs, is ERPA president of Retirement Plan Specialists Inc.

ARDIAN ZIKA has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Pasco-Hernando State College District Board of Trustees. Zika, of Land O’ Lakes, is commercial banking director and senior vice president for Florida Community Bank for the Tampa Bay region.

KAREN BOWLING has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida State College at Jacksonville District Board of Trustees. Bowling, of Jacksonville Beach, is director of public affairs for Foley & Lardner LLP.

SUZANNE NORRIS has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Gateway College District Board of Trustees. Norris, of Lake City, is a regional vice president of TD Bank.

RANDI MACKINTOSH AND MARY O'BRIEN have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Psychology. Mackintosh, of Tallahassee, is a staff psychologist and the outreach director for the Florida State University Counseling Center. O’Brien, of North Palm Beach, is retired.

HARVEY PARTRIDGE has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Veterinary Medicine. Partridge, of Terra Ceia, is a veterinarian with Partridge Animal Hospital.

BABU VARGHESE AND ANTHONY FIORILLO have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Professional Engineers. Varghese, of Davie, is president of Abtech Engineering. Fiorillo, of Winter Park, is president of ECS Florida LLC.

SARAH "SAM" SEEVERS, KELLI WALKER, VANCE ALOUPIS, MARITZA ROVIRA FORINO AND SHERRY WHEELOCK have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Commission on Community Service (Volunteer Florida). Seevers, of Destin, is owner and editor of Life’s a Beach Publications and a former mayor of Destin. Walker, of Tallahassee, is director of volunteer and community involvement for the Florida Department of Education. Aloupis, of Aventura, is state director for the Children’s Movement of Florida. Forino, of Tampa, is business development manager for Foresight Construction Group Inc. Wheelock, of Windermere, is president and chief executive officer of Special Olympics Florida.

MARSHALL "TREY" GUNN II, PETER DYS, TROY HART AND ROGER STEVENS have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Continuing Care Advisory Council. Gunn, of Jacksonville, is a partner at Gunn Chamberlain. Dys, of Fort Myers, is the president of Shell Point Retirement Community. Hart, of Gainesville, is president of SantaFe Senior Living. Stevens, of Windermere, is chief executive officer of Westminster Communities of Florida.

JENNIFER BOROWICZ, ED BRODSKY, GISELA LAURENT, OSCAR SALVADOR GARAY AND SHADAI SIMMONS have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency State Advisory Group. Borowicz, of Port St. Lucie, is a masters level intern at the West Palm Beach Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Brodsky, of Bradenton, is the state attorney for the 12th Judicial Circuit. Laurent, of Winter Garden, is president of Laurent Law Firm P.A. Garay, of Miami, is a graduate student at Florida International University. Simmons, of Pinellas Park, is a youth specialist with Ready For Life.

DAVID CHEONG, BRETT SAUNDERS AND RUPHLAL GOOLJAR have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Orthotists and Prosthetists. Cheong, of Tampa, is an orthopedic oncologist with the Orthopaedic Associates of West Florida. Saunders, of Orlando, is a licensed orthotist and prosthetist with the Saunders Prosthetics Orthotics Group. Gooljar, of St. Augustine, is director of orthotics and prosthetics for Nemours Children’s Clinic.

CHRISTOPHER J. FOX AND KEVIN FOGARTY have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Chiropractic Medicine. Fox, of West Palm Beach, is a chiropractic physician with Fox Spine & Sports Medicine. Fogarty, of Merritt Island, is a chiropractic physician and owner of Fogarty Chiropractic Life Clinic.

LINDA VALDES AND ALVARO HERNANDEZ have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel. Valdes, of Orlando, is administrative coordinator of regulations and safety for Florida Hospital Laboratories. Hernandez, of Odessa, is vice president of commercial sales for Central and North Florida for Humana.

BILLY "BO" MCDOUGAL AND BRIAN HUDSON have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Athletic Training. McDougal, of Jacksonville, is an athletic trainer and assistant athletic director at Jacksonville University. Hudson, of St. Petersburg, is vice president of sales and marketing for Pyramid Healthcare Solutions.

JON IGLEHART AND ROBERT MULHERE have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Southwest Florida Regional Planning Council. Iglehart, of Fort Myers, is south district director for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Mulhere, of Naples, is planning director of Hole Montes.

THOMAS LYNCH, THOMAS WEBER AND VINCENT GOODMAN have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County. Lynch, of Village of Golf, is president of Plastridge Insurance Agency. Weber, of Palm Beach Gardens, is president of Arbitration Resolution Services Inc. Goodman, of Riviera Beach, is a retired assistant principal with the Palm Beach County school district.

DREW HARDGRAVE has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Early Learning Coalition of Escambia County. Hardgrave, of Cantonment, is an insurance agent with Hiles McLeod Insurance.

CARA HIGGINS AND MELVA WAGNER have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority. Higgins, of Key West, is a partner with Horan Wallace Higgins LLP. Wagner, of Saddlebunch Key, is president of Melco Inc.

ROBERT DEVEREUX AND WILLIAM SEENEY have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Flagler County Housing Authority. DeVereux, of Palm Coast, is a financial adviser with Ameriprise Financial Services. Seeney, of Palm Coast, is retired.
