JOEL BROWN has been appointed by state Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater as press secretary for the Florida Department of Financial Services. Brown previously served as the department's Tampa Bay regional manager.

LAKEISHA HOOD has been appointed by Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam to serve as director of the Division of Food, Nutrition and Wellness at the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Hood has served as assistant director of the division for the past three years.

FRANK ALLMAN JR. has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a judge in the 2nd Judicial Circuit. Allman, of Quincy, has served as an assistant state attorney in the 2nd Judicial Circuit since 1997.

JOSE ARMAS AND CLAUDIA PUIG have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida International University Board of Trustees. Armas, of Miami, is founder and chief executive officer of the MCCI Group. Puig, of Coral Gables, is senior vice president of Univision Radio.

KENNETH BRADLEY, DAVID WALSH AND JOHN SPROULS have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the University of Central Florida Board of Trustees. Bradley, of Winter Park, is chief executive officer of Winter Park Memorial Hospital. Walsh, of Winter Springs, is president and chief executive officer of Mitsubishi Power Systems. Sprouls, of Orlando, is chief administrative officer at Universal Parks and Resorts.

FERMIN MIRANDA AND NORMAN WORTHINGTON III have been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the New College of Florida Board of Trustees. Miranda, of Bradenton, is senior vice president of Cadence Bank. Worthington, of Sarasota, is chief executive officer of Star2Star Communications and Copytalk, LLC.

STEPHEN KEPLEY AND CHRISTOPHER KING have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Optometry. Kepley, of Vero Beach, is an optometrist and owner of Stephen R. Kepley, O.D. King, of Tallahassee, is an optometrist with MyEyeDr. Optometry of Florida, LLC. 

CAROL ANN CHRISTOPHERSON, CINDY MOORE AND DON CHESTER have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Rehabilitation Council. Christopherson, of Jacksonville, is president and founder of Florida Service Dogs, Inc. Moore, of Tallahassee, is a senior educational program director at the Florida Department of Education. Chester, of Palm Beach, is an assistant administrator at St. Mary's Medical Center. 
 
JOHN MCTYRE has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Commercial Motor Vehicle Review Board. McTyre, of St. Cloud, is director of strategic relations of McTyre Trucking Company Inc. and Unified Logistics.

BRUCE CUMINGS has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Pilot Commissioners. Cumings, of Fort Lauderdale, is a harbor pilot for Port Everglades Pilots.

HOLLY DENNIS, JOHN EHRIG, MIGUEL RODRIGUEZ AND AIDA BAO-GARCIGA have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Architecture and Interior Design. Dennis, of Sarasota, is an interior designer and owner of Holly Dennis Interiors. Ehrig, of Orlando, is an architect and vice president of HHCP Architects, Inc. Rodriguez, of Coral Gables, is an architect and owner of Rodriguez Architects, Inc. Bao-Garciga, of Miami, is an interior designer and chief of design for Miami International Airport. 

LORENE J. THOMAS, WILLIAM H. HUNTER AND T. DANIEL WEBB have been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the North Central Florida Regional Planning Council. Thomas, of Old Town, is a retired real estate broker. Hunter, of White Springs, is human resources director for North Florida Community College. Webb, of Lake Butler, is a managing attorney with Vernis and Bowling P.A. 

JANET CREEL has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Lake Shore Hospital Authority of Columbia County. Creel, of Lake City, is a real estate broker and owner of Hallmark Real Estate of Lake City.
