SCOTT SHALLEY has been named president and CEO of the Florida Retail Federation. Shalley has served as executive director of the Florida Association of Counties since 2015.

ROBERT LUCK has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a judge on the 3rd District Court of Appeal. Luck, of North Miami Beach, has served as a judge in the 11th Judicial Circuit since 2013.

ALAN WILLIAMS has joined the law and lobbying firm Meenan P.A. Williams, of Tallahassee, served in the state House from 2008 to 2016.

ALAN ABRAMOWITZ has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott as executive director of the Statewide Guardian Ad Litem Program. Abramowitz, of Tallahassee, has served as executive director since 2010.

CALEB HAWKES has been named director of legislative affairs at the Florida Commission on Offender Review. Hawkes previously worked as deputy legislative affairs director with the Agency for Persons with Disabilities.

BARBARA MIEDEMA has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scot to the Palm Beach State College Board of Trustees. Miedema, of Wellington, is vice president of public affairs and communications at the Sugar Cane Growers Cooperative of Florida.

MARCIA MEJIA, STEVEN ANGOTTI AND DEWAYNE MALLORY have been named to new positions on the staff of U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor, D-Fla. Mejia, who has worked as press secretary and communications director, will serve as district director. Angotti, who has worked as grants coordinator and press assistant, will serve as press secretary. Mallory, who was worked as an aide to state legislators, will serve as Castor's outreach director.

MELBA PEARSON, KIRK BAILEY, JACKIE AZIS, KARA GROSS AND RAYMER MAGUIRE have been named to positions with the American Civil Liberties Union of Florida. Pearson, who has been named deputy director of the ACLU of Florida, previously worked as an assistant state attorney in Miami-Dade County. Bailey, who was named political director, most recently worked as vice president of government affairs at the Outdoor Industry Association. Azis, who will work as a staff attorney, has served as an assistant public defender in the 5th Judicial Circuit. Gross, who was named legislative counsel, previously was senior counsel at Smith & Associates. Maguire, who was named manager of the ACLU of Florida's Campaign for Criminal Justice Reform, worked on Florida's medical-marijuana campaigns in 2014 and 2016.

JOANNE LI has been appointed dean of Florida International University's College of Business. Li most recently has served as dean and professor of finance at the Raj Soin School of Business at Wright State University. 

KIMBERLY DANIELS has been appointed by Duval County legislative delegation Chairman Jay Fant to the Jacksonville Security and Emergency Preparedness Planning Council. Daniels, a Democrat, represents Duval County's District 14 in the Florida House.

AUDREY GIBSON has been appointed by Duval County legislative delegation Chairman Jay Fant to the Jacksonville Cultural Council. Gibson, a Democrat, represents District 6 in the Florida Senate.

CLAY YARBOROUGH has been appointed by Duval County legislative delegation Chairman Jay Fant as a special liaison to the Jacksonville City Council. Yarborough, a Republican, represents District 12 in the Florida House.
